This is a great place to see local, regional, and national artwork. The exhibits change every 6 weeks, so there is always something new! A very warm & inviting staff. And, its free to visit!

The art exhibits at the WCFA are stunning. The exhibits change every 6 weeks or so, and always have a wide range of media and subject matter represented. For a small venue, they pack in a lot of talent! The receptions are a great way to meet the exhibiting artists and talk to them about their process and their work.

The Warwick Center for the Arts is located in one of the most dynamic areas of Warwick, nestled right next to a cozy library and the town hall. All of this area is known as Apponaug and is easily accessible from I-95, but also provides intersection through the scenic Route 1. There are many routes to get to the WCFA, but once you arrive, it becomes time to explore the many creative routes of your interests and your brain!
The WCFA, in many of its function, provides arts classes for children and adults, along with performances, exhibits, and even is home to one of the more innovative improvisational theatre communities within the state and just past the border.
One example of their work, before the pandemic, was an exhibit of artifacts from Rocky Point Amusement Park, an amusement park that closed in 1994 and remains a wide open green space for those to enjoy. The collection included many pieces of nostalgia that allowed viewers to examine the rich history of Rhode Island.
While the history of Rhode Island is rich, the area around Apponaug is an opportunity to discover, too. And including the WCFA in your exploration is recommended. Within fifteen minutes travel, you can reach scenic beaches, sumptuous restaurants, and are even close to a craft store if inspired. Overall, the WCFA gives the Apponaug neighborhood a place to be proud of, and a glimmer of the creativity and legacy of the state of Rhode Island.
