Great organization and mission! Not enough groups out there like WDF focused on helping our four legged heroes find peace after retirement.

Warrior Dog foundation is there for the dogs that have given their all to protect our front line defense. These dogs ask nothing in return! Warrior dog foundation gives them the retirement and care mentally as well as physically to keep them healthy and happy until their time has come. We fully support the WDF as much as possible by doing fundraisers and recommend others do as well.

When my husband's time as a MDD handler was running out he was informed that his dog was too aggressive to be reteamed and would be euthanized. Naturally, we could not let that happen. After some research into rehabilitation centers for working dogs we reached out to Warrior Dog Foundation. They were so quick to respond, helpful, flexible, and communicative. These dogs risk their lives right along with our forces and I'm so glad Warrior Dog is around to care for and rehabilitate our retired working dogs.

Mike and the Warrior Dog Foundation provided an amazing home for one of the working dogs from our community that unfortunately wasn't suited for retirement in a home with family members or other pets. Heck, if my wife ever leaves me, I'm driving to Texas to get him! So if I trust Mike and WDF with my four-legged fur missile, I hope all who read this understand the importance of supporting this foundation and the great work they do.

The Warrior Dog Foundation provided a long-term home for one of our agency's police dogs who was unable to live in a typical home environment and have provided him with enrichment, stability, and a caring place to live out the rest of his life. His options were very limited so we are grateful this organization exists to provide long term care for dogs that have served our country in various capacities and due to the training they have received and the experiences they have had cannot be adopted out. Thank you Warrior Dog Foundation.

We were lucky enough to qualify as a forever home for one of these warrior dogs. We adopted Semmi, a then 9 year old black German shepherd, in September 2020. He filled a hole left in our hearts when my 18 year old rescue dog crossed the rainbow bridge in 2018. The interview process was very thorough and is an important aspect when someone is considering adopting one of these dogs. These are not dogs that can go into any home. They go through a vigorous rehabilitation after years serving in our military, and some of them can never safely go to a forever home. Those dogs are cared for until the end of their lives at the Warrior Dog Foundation home. For us, Semmi is a perfect fit. He loves to travel with us, camp with us and is very loving. I am so grateful to have found out about Warrior Dog Foundation and will always support them and the work they do for these wonderful dogs.

Love that they are taking care of these retired K-9s. Someone has to do it. They deserve to be treated well after their service!

Warrior Dog Foundation ticks all of the boxes I look for in a charity: they provide an important service and they are efficient and well run. I believe most of their leadership are unpaid volunteers. Also I tend to support animal focused charities because they have no way to support themselves.

As a former MDD Handler, I wasn't sure what could be done to help keep my working dog from being euthanized. I was blown away by how quickly Warrior Dog responded to my emails and the initiative they took to make sure my working dog had kennel space the moment he was ready. We need more organizations like this one to keep our K9 community safe for retiring working dogs. I would rate them 100/5 if I had the option. Thank you for being flexible, transparent and communicative. Keeping my boy alive!!

I became aware of Mike's work and the Warrior Dog Foundation from one of his TV appearances. I produce a conference every other year and always like to feature a charitable organization that is connected with the military. With my husband owning a large pet resort, and with me having a certified therapy pet, any charity that promotes the well-being of animals and the benefits of the human-animal bond gets my attention.

We invited Mike and one of his Warrior Dogs to come to our conference to provide a demonstration, sign books, raise money for Warrior Dogs, and share information about the mission of Warrior Dogs. He could not have been more gracious and generous with his time, and answered all questions with candor and humor. Laura was terrific in helping us arrange the visit ---- very responsive and able to help customize's Mike's visit to our audience.

I hope to hold another conference where I can bring Mike and another Warrior Dog to share their great story and the important work of the Warrior Dog Foundation!

An amazing organization dedicated to educating the general public about some amazing working dogs. I love that they are dedicated to rehabilitating working dogs and as their mission statement reads, “giving them the retirement they’ve earned.”

It’s been an honor to work with WDF. I truly support their mission! They bring light to an issue most are unaware of. Giving the retirement to those who selflessly served the community.

Warrior Dog Foundation has been amazing to the K9 community. They provided my previous working dog a great home which I was able to see and confirm had the setting in which the dogs appear to be getting the love and care they need to return to a calmer version of themselves and retire with peace.

Dogs are the embodiment of loyalty and selfless love and it is painful to consider how often we, as humans, fail them. This is especially true for working K-9s who have given so much to protect us but are at risk of being euthanized (?!) at the end of their careers. Thank goodness for the Warrior Dog Foundation and its dedication to repaying the debt of gratitude that we ALL owe these heroic dogs. WDF is run by Mike Ritland whose own service to the country, military and K-9 expertise and love of dogs are well documented. The Warrior Dogs are in the best hands at WDF and they're given the respect and retirement that they deserve, including the possibility of retraining/conditioning for life in a forever home.

I am so thankful for the Warrior Dog Foundation. These dogs have worked and risked their lives to keep humans safe. They have more than earned and deserve a hero’s retirement. It’s wonderful when one of these dogs can be adopted to a family or repurposed for another agency.

This is a wonderful charity- providing a voice and care for our 4 legged heroes, who have saved countless lives in some of the hardest conditions; advocating for these heroes in a manner to rehabilitate and rehome them or if not possible care for them throughout the rest of their natural life. They provide each of these heroes the opportunity to live out their WELL earned retirement with the love and dignity they deserve. I cannot recommend this group of heroes enough!
