Just wanted to send a quick kudos to the two that showed up a couple nights ago to the call at Moose Hillock. It was a tough incident (patient with significant burns), made more difficult by the large gatherings of people. There were a couple nurses who had good intentions, but didn’t recognize that care in the hospital is different than care in the field and wanted to question some decisions. I am both an RN, & an Aemt and thought both emt’s that night did a great job with the care that I saw, but also with managing this patients care in more than difficult conditions. Their professionalism throughout the incident was noted and appreciated.
My husband had cancer. We live on a steep snowy private mountain road. On a snowy night, He required an ambulance to get to the Datmouth Hitchcock in Lebanon. It was nearly impossible for me to navigate him into the car and take him myself requiing their assistance. They came to our home with the help of the Town of Dorchester's road agent and rode to our home in a pickup truck since the road was not traversible via ambulance. They stabilized him, then road to the top of the road to get him to the ambulance where they got him safely to treatement. They never complained and were total professionals. I am convinced they saved his life throught their arduous efforts to arrive and relocate him to Dartmout. Words alone can't express our gratitude towards them for all they did for us. These people are the best!!!
Last year I fell down our cellar stairs attempting to carry a bicycle to to be set up as a stationary exercise device. My wife heard a loud noise and discovered me lying on the floor at the foot of the stairs.
She called 911. As I was unconscious, the team member, on the phone, was extremely helpful assisting my wife.
After the initial evaluation, I was transported to the Cottage Hospital in Woodsville , NH.
In 2016, my husband had a new onset seizure in the middle of the night. I live in a rural area, but the ambulance arrived so quickly. The paramedics were very professional and quickly had him evaluated and in the ambulance. They honored my wishes to take him to Dartmouth over the local hospital which necessitated a slightly longer drive. What an exceptional service! Thank you.
