Mission: The waldorf school of santa barbara is committed to providing a healthy, broad, reverent education that honors the head, heart, hands-the whole-of the child. Drawing on a rigorous, developmentally appropriate, and beauty-attuned curriculum, waldorf education cultivates the full flowering of the individual student and the community at large, understanding the profound interdependence of both. The waldorf school of santa barbara seeks to not merely reflect society but help guide and shape it.
Programs: The theme of waldorf pedagogy is the development of the human being. The focus of each grade is to provide educational activities that respond to the emotional, physical, spiritual and intellectual needs of the children as they go through definable stages of development. The intention of our class trips, summer camp, and after school care programs are to allow the children a time to unwind from the school day and gain enrichment in other areas outside of the classroom setting.
