Volunteering Oportunities

Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Animal Protection & Welfare, Animals

Mission: Our mission is to assist our community with the pet overpopulation issue. We will strive to do this by offering assistance to families that need help with medical, training or food needs for their pets. We will implement educational programs on spaying and neutering. Our hopes are that this will reduce the pets being released to our shelters. We will also take dogs into our program where we will meet each dog's medical and social needs until we find their forever home.

My sister and I drove up from deep South Florida in February to pick up Luca. I was so excited to have been selected to give him his furever home! WAGS took great care in weaning him and his litter mates...ultimately placing them all, and Momma too, in their new homes. I couldn't have asked for a better experience than WAGS gave me. They are professionals who truly care about the animals they save...and they save them every single day! I highly recommend WAGS!

I adopted a puppy from another rescue. The lady who worked for the rescue started her own a rescue a year or so ago., Wags Rescue. I have never seen such passion to make sure their babies are placed in the perfect home. The screening process is very strict. Their hearts are truly 110% for these rescues. This is why I became a foster mom under them.

I wanted a rescue dog for a while so I finally found the one that tugged at my heart from this site. Oh my, what a sweetie and she loves her brother and sister doggies.
Wags does a remarkable job of giving life, saving lives, and giving love! They rescued my sweet one and Insee how many dogs/cats they not only save but make sure they are adopted to loving homes!
The very best of what a rescue non-profit should be and aspire to!

WAGS is everything a rescue can be...

Trina's description of June (now June Bug) tugged at our heart...she was a stray that delivered her puppies 5 hours after arriving at Trina's house. She was named June because that's when she was rescued and had her puppies. June was a great mommy to her pups and Trina was a great mommy to June.

We adopted June during Hurricane Irma last year. Trina kept in touch with updates about how soon we could pick her up after all of the cleanup in her neighborhood.

June has enriched our lives and we feel as lucky to have found her as she feels about having a loving adoptive family! She and our first rescue, Charlie, are inseparable!

Wags is caring and professional and doggies just seem to find them!

We adopted Maggie about 3 weeks ago. She is doing great and has a wonderful temperament. You can tell her first weeks of her life she was handled well by the volunteers at Wags Rescue. She’s exactly what they described

Our Duchess has been such a blessing in our lives, so many thanks to WAGS Rescue. We made the decision to adopt a dog with “Corgi in the mix,” and when we met her, it was instant love. It was not long after she came to live with us that my dad passed away, my mom moved in too. Duchess has been so loving, kind, and gentle to my grieving mom. We stay in touch with WAGS, and Trina has “been there” for our family. I am regularly brought to tears by the good work they do.

Amazing love and concern for the dogs in their care. Our dogs mom was found pregnant. If it wasn’t for Kathy Williams we would never have our wonderful puppy Hershey, now 15 months old. It was comforting to know he had such a good home for the first 8 weeks of his life. Thank you so much.

We love WAGS! We adopted our Senior Great Dane from WAGS! They took such great care of him as he was underweight when he was rescued by them. Even after we adopted them they have been great at answering questions and love to see updates of their adopted puppies. They truly love and care for each dog that they take in. Thank you again WAGS. Charlie has completed our family!!!

I have fostered with WAGS for about 4 months now and I love every minute of it. So far, I've fostered puppies and they are so funny! Trina and the crew provide any and all support that you could ever want or need with these guys. I have only had one other experience like this fostering dogs and that was when I lived in Mt. WAGS makes you feel valued, welcome, and part of the team. EVERYONE is in it for the doggies and it shows in every interaction. If anyone is looking to become a foster, please check this group out. I'm proud to say that I volunteer with them now, and I plan on volunteering with them forever.

WAGS, in my opinion, is as perfect an organization as can be. They won’t turn an animal away if they can help it. They take in pregnant dogs, seniors, puppies, all ages and breeds. They even take on serious condition dogs and will do everything they can to get them medical attention and healthy. Their rescue stories are so inspirational.

They also foster the animals, so they can work on socialization, training, and really learn the personalities of these animals.

My husband and I adopted through one of the fosters shortly before we got married, a little brown dachshund Lab boy who was the last one of the group to need a family. For a year he was our only baby, and our best friend. However, a month ago, one of the fosters posted that a little husky hound girl was dumped on their road, and it was soon learned that she was adopted from an animal shelter 3 days prior. Our doxie boy needed a friend, so we reached out to the foster mom about her. Within a few weeks (we were moving to a new home) we picked her up and she’s the sweetest dog I have ever met.

I feel that WAGS makes an incredible impact on these dog’s lives. They will work on a pickup date with you once your application is approved, they share the great experiences and their losses, they aren’t afraid to show you everything that they experience with these dogs and it’s amazing. Every single foster parent/family loves their job and you can tell by every rescue photo, every adoption photo, and by the amount of dogs rescued daily.

If you need a reason to donate or are unsure about how reliable this rescue is, WAGS will always be recommended by my family. I can not think of a rescue who will take in medical cases and make them as much a priority to rescue as a puppy. These rescuers and fosters do an amazing job not only with the dogs they rescue, but also in finding the perfect families to adopt them.

We love WAGS!!
