Foster for Waggytail Rescue since last December, currently on my 9th foster. The longest foster stayed with me for about 2months, and most were adopted soon. Waggytail Rescue help shared the posts and stories, and there are events every one or half month. Foster contacts and Facebook group are always helpful when I’m in need. It has been a great experience and I would recommend to others fostering from Waggytail Rescue.
I have had the most fulfilling experience fostering with Waggytail. As a first-time dog owner, I was very nervous to welcome a 40 lb puppy into my home. Cody (now Milo) was my first foster and quickly became a "foster fail." As they say, it is never a fail - the goal is adoption, and Milo found his way home with me. My foster contacts (my "doggy sponsors") supported me through the less glamorous and difficult parts of fostering and animal rescue (yes... there are sometimes ticks and gross poo). 20+ fosters later I am so glad that Waggytail took a chance on me and has helped me grow on my foster journey. I'm grateful for the service-minded Waggy community who help me to give my best to my foster cats and dogs.
I've been fostering for Waggytail for two years now and have had a really great experience. You're assigned a foster buddy who helps support you during the foster period and fosters are allowed to review apps and add their input on what the dogs ideal home looks like. I take a lot of seniors and a few have had some unexpected medical issues. The rescue was able to get me an appt with their vet quickly and clearly communicated to me what needed to be done for the health and safety of the dog. Overall Waggytail is organized and responsive with any issues that crop up and I'd recommend them for both new and experienced fosters!
My daughter and I fostered our pup kerry from Waggytailrescue.org on april 30 2022 and he is a joy. The process to apply was quick , easy and my contacts are efficient and reply to my texts, emails, phone calls very quickly . Anything that we needed answered they answered and any suggestions. Kerry is sweet playful and great addition to our family.
Waggytail is a really great rescue that focuses on saving small dogs and finding them homes in the NYC area.
They’ve been great to work with as a foster volunteer and have become more organized in recent years. I love that I have a buddy to text if I have a question about my foster pup, and I appreciated the donated supplies that helped me start my foster journey.
I have now been fostering for Waggytail since May of 2018 and they have been amazing! The communication between myself and the Waggytail team has been continuous and anything the boys have needed they are ready to provide. Jerry the brown and white dog has now been adopted and is an amazing home! Ben is still with me while we help him get through some medical stuff. I would highly recommend Waggytail if you are interested in fostering or adopting.

I started fostering small dogs several years ago. I only do small dogs as my personal dogs are small and feel more comfortable handling them. Waggytail rescue is amazing. They fly small dogs from California to new york via personal chaperones. Me being a foster in California was a perfect fit for both of us. I love the work that these ladies do. Communication is easy, they handle reimbursement quickly and are always very helpful when i have questions. All dogs are fully vetted here in California. We do dental at time of spay or neuter with our dogs.

Very unprofessional and I have had two incidents where I was told I would be fostering a puppy...both times they confirmed via email of when the pick up date would be and I would be told what time the day before. I went out and bought the necessary items for taking in a new puppy and the first time, I was never notified of a pick up time and basically ignored. The 2nd time was recently- I got a confirmation email and told the date of pick up. 24 hours later I got another email that I needed to send them an updated application...afterwards I was sent another email stating that they already had another Foster available and I was no longer needed. It seems to be a scam since this is the 2nd time it has happen. They are unorganized and unsympathetic towards those that have put time and effort into fostering or adopting a puppy from their organization. DO NOT BOTHER WITH WAGGYTAIL- YOUR TIME AND MONEY WILL BE WASTED. I should have learned my lesson the first time I had dealt with them and was extremely heartbroken and disappointed...after the 2nd time, I felt forced to write a review so others don't have to go thru the same horrible experience.
