Mission: Through YC, teens from diverse backgrounds develop skills to express themselves and build a strong community. YC/Atlanta, modeled after similar programs in other urban areas, was founded in Atlanta by 13 teens and 10 adults in response to a call from youth to let kids "use pencils as weapons of change." The result was VOX, an after-school program and a product that responds to the sense of powerlessness that youth, especially minority and disadvantaged youth, feel every day.
