Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Citizen Participation, Civil Rights, Voter Education & Registration, Voting Rights

Mission: Founded nationally as a 501(c)(3) in 2001, Vote for America grew out of the need to develop an organization whose mission rose above partisanship to focus on issues and informed action. Vote for America?s goals are to increase informed voter participation and to engage volunteers in a project that will improve their civic engagement in and out of the voting booth. Vote for America?s history to date has shown that average citizens can and will increase voter participation given the right strategy and tools. By focusing on the act of voting rather than any specific candidate or issue, we have turned voter mobilization into community service. Our strategy is simple and effective. Pledge. Learn. Vote. campaigns organize citizens into a network of volunteers who reach out to people they know and engage them in the project of drawing more voters to the polls. This person-to-person contact takes advantage of existing relationships and makes potential voters accountable to their peers.
