My story was is a real life horror story. My diagnosis could have easily been stage I, but because Vista Community Clinic, failed to follow regulations, properly enroll me into a Federally Funded program as they said they did, failed to have office protocol's in place, and failed to notify me of my mammogram in 2009, I was given a delayed diagnosis in 2011. Before I new, what had happened, the VCC again, delayed my treatment by failing to properly provide case management as they state they do. The VCC for years has been funded by private donations, federal grants, private grants to provide specific programs for under insured and no insurance residents of the North County of San Diego. But rather than provide patients with quality services they continue to promise new programs in order to receive more grants. Ultimately all the grant money only increased the size of the VCC, provided the board with increased salary's, and a larger expense account. Then to top all this off, they bill for services not received or that are paid for by donated funding. None of the departments are managed properly because they only promote from within, regardless of education, training, or experience. Thus placing unqualified staff in positions that they can not manage nor have an understanding how important details in the medical field are when managing medical files and charts. They do not offer, programs as simple as Assistance with Application Completion for Medi-cal, educate patients diagnosed with acute diseases, thus allowing delays, increased unemployment rates. They protocol for follow up is to say the least does not exist nor has it ever. The millions of dollars they spent on a computerized patient records data base is wasted because the staff fails to use it properly, so patient management is no better then when they utilized paper. The teen center is a joke, they bill the teens, when they do not have insurance, they do not follow up with test results, and they do not perform tests that avoids contamination so getting false positive only creates unecessary retesting. They work with a local hospital and patients seen in the ER are referred to the VCC, which only increases the patient load, and decreases the quality of patient care, because they are overwhelmed and are trying to do to much with not enough staff. When you are seen by a doctor, if your one of the lucky ones, you never have time to ask questions, nor do they provide you with enough information that is helpful. They are costing private donors more money and increasing the unemployment rate, social services lines. It is time someone does something, more women are going to die not to mention those we don't know about. They also love to try and cover up there tracks and lie to patients to save their ass. But some of us are smart and save every document and kept notes of conversations and correspondence. SHUT THESE FACILITIES DOWN BEFORE MORE PEOPLE DIE>...
