This nonprofit does amazing work. It is run by experts in law, medicine, and economics, who look at world development problems holistically to produce thoughtful, workable solutions. Everyone I worked with and met at VF earned my utmost respect for their passion and intelligence. My time as a legal intern could not have been better spent: I learned through observation and practice how a truly effective nonprofit works. I highly recommend any association with this organization.
I work as a lawyer for a large global consulting company and have volunteered for the Virtue Foundation on various initiatives since its inception. I have been consistently impressed by the professionalism, dedication, and enthusiasm of its staff and volunteers. The majority of the Foundation’s staff have full time jobs outside of their work with the Foundation and offer their services on a pro-bono basis so that the funds the Foundation receives can be used directly for the projects it supports. The insight and thoughtfulness that its members exercise in structuring programs specifically catering to the immediate needs of local populations around the globe as well as offering sustainable solutions for their development are especially inspiring. I love being able to participate in some small way with a foundation so utterly devoted to improving peoples’ lives.
I am a medical director at a federally qualified health center which
serves as a safety net for disenfranchised at
risk populations at one of the largest health centers
in Brooklyn, New York. I also function as the research director for
the outpatient network. My volunteer efforts with
Virtue Foundation has provided me with the opportunity
to assist in developing sustainable health infratructures
for motivated underesourced communities
in need. This experience has been life changing
and possibly indispensible for the international communities
that we have served. The broad and multilayered vision
of Virtue Foundation due to tremendous leadership
and oversight has allowed us to deliver pragmatic and
sustainable interventions that foster community independence
and self direction that is critical for the viability of
long term positive health outcomes for communities in
need. The dedication, humility and devotion
to public service of the volunteers is one of the most compelling
features I have ever witnessed in an organization. I feel
it has been an incredible and life altering experience volunteering
for Virtue Foundation and one of the great highlights of my life that I hope
will only continue.
I worked with Virtue Foundation as part of a Law School project and as a legal intern. My experience with Virtue Foundation was incredibly fulfilling and educational. I was able to participate in a wide variety of interesting projects, meet interesting development and human rights professionals and learn about development issues. Working with Virtue Foundation was one of the best experiences of my law school career.
