Mission: VEI is an educational nonprofit transforming U.S. students into professionals by bringing the workplace into the classroom.
Results: We've served 100,000 students since 1996.
Target demographics: middle school and high school students
Direct beneficiaries per year: 12,000 students, 380 high schools
Programs: Our signature VE program, which offers the VE experience: Assuming the Role – students serve in departments (Design, Finance, Sales) and roles (CEO, VP, Associate) Virtual Economy – students buy and sell goods and experience the dynamics of financial markets Teacher as Consultant – VE is student-directed and there are no traditional lessons Global Perspective - VE students interface with students from 40 countries around the world Day-to-Day Business Dynamics – students work individually, in departments, and as a firm to plan and implement a business Industry Partnerships – VE industry partners provide skills-based mentoring, serve as competitions judges, and offer internships to students Competitions & Events – Business Plan Competitions, National Online Competitions, Regional and International Trade Shows, Regional Competitions, and Leadership Events
