Mission: Vision:
Our vision is to encourage high school students to earn a 2-year or 4-year degree. We intend to inspire graduating seniors to think beyond the now and look towards a positive college experience and a brighter future. Since 2001, a student has received a book scholarship from the Virginia Pinnock Scholarship Fund.
Goal:
Our goal is to identify a high school graduate who desires to invest his or her time and commitment to earn a college degree. We are looking for a high school graduate who wants to change his or her life circumstances, demonstrate persistence, exhibit good study habits, and meet deadlines without excuses. The candidate does not have to rank at the top of the class, but must demonstrate the tenacity to start and finish college or any post-secondary institute.
Mission:
Our mission is to provide financial support ($500-$2000) to college-bound high school students determined to start and finish college.
Qualification:
High school recipients must:
• Have a GPA of 2.5 or better
• Demonstrate perseverance and academic improvement in grades.

This scholarship covered the cost of my books and materials for the first two years of my college education. As a financially independent first-generation college student every single dollar counts. A lot fo scholarships apply directly to your fee bill which is certainly helpful but it often does not help a student buy textbooks. I am eternally grateful for this scholarship. In just a few months I will graduate from UConn with my BA in political science. I have already been admitted to UConn's 5th-year master's program for political science and will receive my MA next year. I was able to focus on my studies because I did not have to work the ridiculous amount of hours a week many students do out of necessity in order to purchase class materials. It is not because I am smarter or better. It is because I had the resources to succeed. Please donate to the Virginia Pinnock Scholarship Fund. Help another bright young student succeed.
