Programs: Community, business and industry programs: planned and operated an alcohol and drug-free celebration for approximately 185 graduates of george mason high school class of 2014.
student support/enrichment/education: provided grants to teachers and student clubs to support curricular and extra-curricular programs, chapter dues for best buddies, expenses for jazz ensembles, dragon boat race expenses, chemistry class trip to national museum of crime and punishment, grant to students working on school newspaper to publish paper edition and trip to new york for journalism seminar, pizza for end of year picnic for students and faculty, etc.
education enhancement/community involvement support: provided hospitality to 50 new parents and students at the beginning of the year, as well as to 100 teachers and staff several times during the year and during teacher appreciation week; hosted international dinner to strengthen community bonds (approx. 100 families) in march 2013; also provided faculty with staples gift cards to obtain classroom supplies.
