Mission: Our mission is to provide affordable housing opportunities for low and moderate income families in Virginia Beach.
Results: We have housed 6,704 INDIVIDUALS in safe and affordable communities. We have provided supportive services including case management and direct financial assistance to 10,104 INDIVIDUALS.
Target demographics: families, veterans, disabled, elderly (55 and better), children, and low and moderate income households, communities
Direct beneficiaries per year: 1245 individuals in need of permanent rental housing, 389 individuals in at-risk or homeless veteran families, 115 individuals in need of supplemental food assistance, 1340 individuals through community outreach and education initiatives
Geographic areas served: the Hampton Roads community
Programs: Permanent Rental housing that serves low-to-moderate income families including those 55 and better, veterans, and those with mental and physical disabilities; Supportive Services for Veterans Families program that promotes housing stability among low-income veterans and veteran families who reside in or are transitioning to permanent housing; Food Pantry allowing individuals and families in need to receive supplemental nutrition assistance; Energy Share Program through Dominion Virginia Power offering bill payment assistance to veteran residents who are facing financial challenges; nightly shelter home for families with children in need of immediate housing assistance; and a variety of community outreach and education events for our neighbors.
