VHM is a small group of volunteers with huge passion. VHM is making big impact in the area of collecting, preserving and sharing history and stories of Vietnamese mass exodus also known as Vietnamese Boat People era. I have been here in the US over 40 years; all that time I have focus on career and family and never spend much time educate my children of boat people journey. Looking back, my children have now became adult without knowing much about why and how I came to America. I volunteer at VHM to do my part of educating young adults and students in our communities. Freedom and liberty came with painful scarifies for each and every Vietnamese boat people and reflected in the arts, artifacts, and stories collection in VHM's Oral History YouTube channel.

As the eldest volunteer of the VHM, I see so many successful Vietnamese immigrants thriving in this country.  It fills me pride knowing what a journey it was for many after the Communists invaded  Vietnam, and the subsequent war that tore the country apart.  It is my hope that we do not forget the difficulties so many refugees endured after fleeing their homeland for a freedom life here in America.

I believe it’s very important to impart these stories to the younger generations who may not know this tragic, and triumphant part of our history.  We rely on our community and dedicated volunteers to carry out our vision of preserving and promoting our Vietnamese refugees’ narratives.  With your support we hope to preserve our heritage and tell our stories for the future generations to come.

This is one of the greatest organizations to work with. Their mission and vision is very clear. Their dedicated team of volunteers are some of the best in the community.

It's our family pleasure to contribute (we will continue to do so) and help the Vietnamese Heritage Museum (VHM) grow.

Attached is one of the many artifacts that our family donated to VHM.

Vietnamese Heritage Museum brings aforth the richness of Vietnamese culture, echoes the trials and triumphs of Vietnamese history and the flight for freedom. The special projects and featured programs, which VHM concurrently proceeds and achieves, are the most vivid and most touching contributing factors to elevate itself to one of the recognized non-profit organizations in Southern California.

As a Vietnam Veteran, I have great interest in seeing this museum come to life. Veterans know the importance of telling their stories. Many times history books do not get the story correct but by relating life experiences, the true story gets told.
I think the world needs to know the sacrifice and hardships the refugees who fled Vietnam by boat experienced. Their stories are both sad and hopeful-sad for the pain and suffering but hopeful because they survived in a foreign land and built productive lives. The younger generations need to learn about them and appreciate what freedom means.

When I watched the movie “Schindler’s List” I wish there would be one day film makers could make movies about Vietnamese refugees escaping from the Communist regime.

As a boat people escaping from Vietnam 38 years ago, I have seen and read many sad stories of Vietnamese refugees.

Vietnamese Heritage Museum (VHM) is collecting all the saddest stories of Vietnamese refugees that many people don’t know.

These documentary will be a great source for film directors who want to make films in the future.

I support VHM because this organization is doing an extraordinary job in preserving all the stories about Vietnamese refugee history that the world and younger Vietnamese generations should know.

Vietnamese Heritage Museum is an excellent organization for many young generations to get involved with, especially for those interested in learning about Vietnamese history and who want to see some of the artifacts that genuinely represent the experienced and narrative of our Vietnamese refugee diaspora.
