Mission: Agency mission: vida seeks to provide and ensure that quality legal representation and other necessary direct and indirect services are available to economically disadvantaged immigrant survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking, and other violent crimes services
Programs: Vida is currently the only legal organization in florida with the sole purpose of assisting immigrant survivors in a client-centered, care- coordinated model. In addition to providing immigration legal representation, vida partners with community organizations to provide further advocacy, referrals, care coordination, emergency relief funding and services, shelter, life skills training, health care access, empowerment support groups, counseling, and other legal services which fully support survivors and encourage self- sufficiency. Immigration assistance vida offers expert legal assistance in obtaining temporary immigration relief, permanent residency, and work permits-including court representation and advanced legal advocacy. Holistic services vida provides comprehensive case management, safety planning and referrals to community partners for crisis intervention, counseling, financial assistance, and other services. Vida also accompanies trafficking survivors through the life of the criminal case against the trafficker providing criminal justice advocacy, and coordinating access to non-immigration legal assistance. Training, outreach and advocacy. Vida educates the community and trains service providers and law enforcement about the needs of immigrant survivors and the legal protections available to them. Attorneys are nationally-recognized experts on the rights of immigrant survivors and advise advocates and policy- makers.
