I enjoyed learning through VetsinTech. They provided me with the opportunity to complete courses that will further my journey into the field of tech. There are great resources and aids available for additional information regarding various topics.
They have a great organization going on. They have always been helpful and willing. I have done several courses and they provide valuable knowledge.

VetsinTech is doing an absolutely fantastic job providing veterans with the courses and resources to progress in the tech industry, whether you are a newbie or a seasoned tech professional looking for a change. I have taken two courses with Mr. Anouar Bencheqroun, who does an excellent job in helping the students understand the material and prepare for the certification exams. Looking forward to take more courses with this great organization.
I am writing to wholeheartedly recommend the Sec+ course offered by VetsInTech — a program that stands out not only for its exceptional quality but also for its commitment to empowering veterans and military families in the tech field. Having had the privilege of completing this course myself, I can confidently say that it is a transformative experience for anyone looking to build a solid foundation in cybersecurity.
The VetsInTech Sec+ course equips students with critical knowledge and practical skills to tackle today's cybersecurity challenges. The instructors, many of whom are industry professionals with years of experience, bring a wealth of knowledge and hands-on expertise to every lesson. Their guidance fosters a collaborative and engaging learning environment where every question is valued, and every concept is made clear.
One of the aspects I appreciated most about the course was its focus on practical application. Through a combination of lectures, hands-on labs, and interactive discussions, I gained a thorough understanding of crucial topics such as network security, risk management, and cryptography. By the end of the program, I felt not only prepared to take the Security+ exam but also confident in my ability to contribute effectively to a cybersecurity team.
Beyond the technical training, VetsInTech fosters a sense of community. The support network among students, instructors, and alumni is nothing short of inspiring. Whether you have questions about class material, career advice, or industry trends, there is always someone willing to help. This sense of belonging and shared purpose made the program even more rewarding.
If you are considering a career in cybersecurity or want to strengthen your foundational knowledge in this rapidly growing field, I cannot recommend the VetsInTech Sec+ course highly enough. Taking this course was one of the best decisions I have made for my professional development, and I am confident it will have the same impact on you. I encourage you to take advantage of this incredible opportunity — your future self will thank you.
I’m incredibly grateful to VetsinTech and GreatNonprofits for making it possible for me to complete the Security+ course. This opportunity allowed me to deepen my understanding of core cybersecurity concepts—everything from network security to risk management—all with real-world applications that I can carry forward in my career. The course wasn’t just a stepping stone for professional growth; it was an investment in my future and my family’s stability. I walked away from this program more confident, more prepared, and motivated to continue advancing in the cybersecurity field.
I had a great experience with VetsinTech. The Security+ course was well put together, making the material less intimidating. Annour was a fantastic instructor! I’d definitely recommend this program to other veterans looking to get into tech.
I can’t say enough how thankful I am for this course and the people behind it. The instructor showed up for us in every way — not just with knowledge, but with heart. You could tell they truly cared that we understood the material and felt confident moving forward. They shared an incredible amount of resources, practice tools, and personal insight that made a huge difference. As a veteran trying to build a better future for my family, this course meant more than just a certification — it was a reminder that we’re not alone, and that people do want to see us succeed. Truly grateful for this experience.

Attendance on a daily basis is a mandatory requirement for all students. Any class session or activity missed, regardless of cause, reduces the opportunity for learning and may adversely affect a student’s achievement. Students are responsible to instructors for class attendance and for any class work missed during an absence. Student is responsible to catch up on the missing material on his/her own by contacting fellow classmates or instructor.
I’m so deeply grateful for the opportunity to take this CompTIA Security+ course through VetsinTech. The instructor’s dedication was clear from the very beginning — they were intentional with every lesson, breaking down complex topics with patience and clarity. What stood out most was how they made sure we had access to a variety of resources, not just for now, but to truly carry us through to exam day and beyond. I felt supported, seen, and genuinely cared for throughout this journey. This course didn’t just prepare me for a test — it gave me hope and direction in my career. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Vets in Tech is a great organization that support Veterans. The course I just completed was Sec+ with Anouar Bencheqroun. He was extremely knowledgeable and thorough with the class to ensure we all understood the material, as well as answered any questions we may have had. He's a great instructor and I look forward to taking additional courses with Vets in Tech in the future. They are amazing.
This organization is transforming lives by providing amazing opportunities.
In my situation, when transitioning careers to stay relevant in a technology-based world, VetsinTech offered a Security+ (701) opportunity that included A+ and Network+ self-paced material and instructor-led Sec+ training. Anouar Bencheqroun was my instructor, and he was wonderful in his real-world examples and knowledge breakdown delivery of the content. The information breakdown is especially useful for someone like me who lacks prior experience in this field.
Every military member should be aware of VetsinTech and take advantage of the opportunities they offer. Thank you, Vetsintech!

This experience was informative and eye-opening. My instructor was patient and thorough. I look forward to learning more and diving deeper into the cyber realm.
Thank you,
BK
My instructor Anouar and the VetsinTech team provide a great service for veterans. The ability to learn new skills and get certified in them for free is invaluable in increasing opportunities in the civilian sector for separating or retiring military. The course content of the Security+ course prepared me for the exam and put me in a better position for a future career in tech.
"When I began the Sec+ course, I had no prior security experience. By completing the Sec+ course, I had developed a strong foundational understanding of security and how to use it in real-world scenarios. The instructor, Anouar Bencheqroun, was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about teaching. He made complex concepts accessible and ensured that every student felt supported throughout the course. His dedication to student success greatly impacted my learning journey."
I had the opportunity to take a one-week CompTIA Security+ fundamentals course through VetsinTech, and it was an incredibly valuable experience. The course ran online during the day and offered a structured, focused dive into key security concepts. It was well-paced and designed with veterans in mind, providing a welcoming and empowering environment for learners transitioning into tech.
Our instructor, Anouar Bencheqroun, truly made the course exceptional. His ability to explain technical material clearly and keep the class engaged stood out. He broke down complex cybersecurity topics into digestible lessons, making the material far more approachable and ensuring we were well-prepared for the Security+ certification exam.
Overall, I highly recommend this course to any veteran interested in cybersecurity. VetsinTech continues to demonstrate their commitment to high-quality, accessible training. This program is not only informative but also inspiring—a strong first step into the world of information security.
So took a class with Annour for Comptia Security+, this was such an amazing class and learned so much! It actually helps when you have someone helping you understand the topics more in depth vice just watching videos when you can't even ask a question!
I just finished VetsinTech Security+ (701) training at the end of April and I am now prepping to sit for the certification exam in late May or early June! My instructor was Anouar Bencheqroun. We started out with a week of self study videos on A+, followed by a week of Network+. The Pluralsight videos were informative...I watched mine at 1.2X speed. Then we had Security+ videos - again, self-paced, but ALL self-paced materials needed to be completed prior to our week of ZOOM instruction with our very knowledgeable instructor, Anouar Bencheqroun! I found his delivery and knowledge shares to be the bridge between the enormous amount of information consumed via the videos and many of the quiz sites & practice tests. He frequently gave us examples that broke down the information into consumable pieces. He always asked for our input and helped whenever we didn't quite grasp a concept. Anouar, also, provided recordings of our class! As a FYI, prior to sitting thru the plurasight videos - download or print out the exercise files that at with each self-paced video (especially for the Security+ videos)! They are great to take notes on! Fingers crossed, I accept all Blessings & prayers! I will update after I sit for AND pass the Security+ exam!!!
I recently completed a one-week CompTIA Security+ fundamentals course through VetsinTech, and I can’t recommend it highly enough! The course, held online from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, was expertly led by instructor Anouar Bencheqroun. His clear explanations, engaging teaching style, and deep knowledge made complex concepts accessible and prepared me thoroughly for the Security+ exam. VetsinTech’s commitment to empowering veterans through tech training shines through in this well-structured, impactful program. Five stars for an outstanding experience!
As a military spouse, I’ve had the opportunity to attend several VetsInTech classes, most recently the AWS Solutions Architect – Associate course with Anouar. He is an incredible instructor—deeply knowledgeable, supportive, and truly committed to delivering his best in every session.
I can confidently say that I wouldn’t be where I am in my career today without VetsInTech and the range of high-quality training they offer. Their programs have been a game-changer for military spouses like me, providing the skills and support needed to succeed in tech.
Great Non Profit and course. I learned a lot especially security concepts which I struggled with and will be taking the Comptia Security+ exam. I had a great experience and so thankful I found this opportunity to study with the VIT
VetsinTech was able to facilitate my Security+ course through generous donations. Anouar Bencheqroun was my instructor and quickly left no doubt that he was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about teaching. He was able to take complex topics and lot of them, and compress them down to easily understandable, digestible chunks for us. He did a fantastic job by keeping us engaged and now armed with the knowledge he imparted along with the access to the learning materials provided, there is no reason anyone should not be able to succeed if they put in the work.
This course can be intimidatingly in the amount of information needed but with the guidance of the instructor and the feedback and learning environment he fostered, I felt much better with it then I would have on my own. Thanks to Mr. Bencheqroun and his efforts, along with a little more study time, I feel well prepared in general to take the exam and ace it. This exam I plan to be life changing as I pivot careers so I cannot thank Mr. Bencheqroun and VetsinTech enough for allowing the opportunity to exist.
Great Non Profit and course. Learned a lot and will be passing the Comptia Security+ on the first try god willing. had a great experience and so thankful I found this opportunity to study with the VIT program
Co-workers and friends had told me for years that VetsinTech was able to provide the Security+ course, access to on-line instuction with a virtual lab enviornment and a CompTIA vourcher for free to veterans and their families. I had seen the opportunites that VetsinTech provides transform the careers of veterans for a few years. This is what drew me to the organization in the first place.
When I decided to switch careers and join the IT field. I was initally overwhelmed and intimidated, but VetsinTech made this process so much easier than I could ever have expected. Everyone at VetsinTech was very encouraging and welcoming which gave me the confidnece to dive into the courseware. They provided me with access to training resources prior to the Security+ class so that I could learn foundational IT concepts to prepare me for the course. The access to these training resources and the instuction during the course has been invaluable. The instructor for the Security+ course had years of IT experience and leveraged that expereince to explain complex concepts in a relatable way. By the end of course I was confident in the knowledge I had aquired and no longer felt intimidated.
I am extremely grateful for the opportunity that VetsinTech provides. Furthermore, I am extremely grateful to the sponsors of this organization for helping change the lives of our veterans and thier families. I will recommend VetsinTech to anyone 10/10!
VetsinTech was an absolute game-changer in my journey to re-achieving the Security+ certification! As someone who let my previous Security+ certification expire over 10 years ago, I recognized the importance of this certification, but the sheer volume of information felt even more daunting the second time around, considering how much the landscape has evolved.
VetsinTech provided exactly what I needed to bridge that gap and get me back up to speed quickly. Their resources were incredibly relevant and up-to-date, focusing on the current threats and technologies that are critical for the exam. The structured learning path they offered helped me efficiently revisit core concepts while also mastering the new material. I was particularly impressed with how they tailored the learning experience, acknowledging that some of us veterans might have prior exposure but still need targeted preparation for the current exam.
The support and encouragement I received through the VetsinTech network were also invaluable. Connecting with other veterans, some new to the field and others like me returning after a break, provided a fantastic learning environment and a shared sense of purpose.
Thanks to VetsinTech, I felt significantly more confident and prepared than I would have been trying to navigate the updated Security+ curriculum on my own. If you're a veteran looking to earn your Security+ for the first time or, like me, needing to recertify after some time, I can't recommend VetsinTech enough. They truly understand the needs of veterans and provide the resources and support to help us succeed in the tech industry.
VetsinTech is an outstanding resource for the military-affiliated community. While preparing for the CompTIA Security+ certification, I had the opportunity to attend a BootCamp led by Anouar Bencheqroun. His instruction helped me better understand how to approach the exam, using both the concepts covered in the course and the supplemental materials from Pluralsight and other recommended resources.
Having a peer group to study and discuss concepts with was incredibly valuable. Although BootCamps can feel intense, like drinking from a firehose, I now feel more confident in my preparation and ready to tackle the exam.
I highly recommend VetsinTech to anyone in transition, looking to upskill, or seeking new career opportunities. Their comprehensive support and community make a real difference.
AN A+ EXPERIENCE! Not only were we afforded the opportunity to learn and ingrain the core objectives of CompTIA Sec+, but also A+ and Net+ as well! The self-paced instruction through Pluralsight, and daily live instruction from Anouar greatly furthered my understanding of IT as a whole. Pluralsight videos were engaging and straight forward, I seldom felt myself losing interest like I have with previously parsed material for these courses. Anouar was exemplary, He always sought to engage us with the topic at hand, as well as providing much needed examples for the more difficult to grasp concepts.
All in all, I would (and still do) highly recommend this course of instruction to any fellow service member/spouse looking to break into IT, or wanting to further their mastery of Sec+!
My first course with VetsinTech was Security+ with Anouar Bencheqroun. I’ve taken this class previously through a different organization but this was the best one. Anouar is incredibly knowledgeable and is passionate about teaching. I learned a lot in his class and feel significantly more prepared for the exam than if I would have studied alone. Would highly recommend any of his classes or any class under VetsinTech.
Update on my review from August, 2024: I am so grateful for Vets In Tech and the fantastic training in Sec+ with Anouar Bencheqroun! I am so incredibly grateful to Vets In Tech for providing these amazing courses to the military community. I was so lucky to have instructors Anouar Bencheqroun for Sec + and Neeraj Kashikar for AWS Solution Architect Associate. Both instructors were absolutely phenomenal and I appreciate how they broke down complex topics during our live Zoom lectures. I also learned a lot from the materials on Plural Sight on Sec + and gaining hands on experience in AWS with helpful materials posted on Canvas. I highly recommend Vets In Tech and I hope to take another course from them in the future!
"VetsinTech has definitely been a stepping stone as a non-profit organization. It’s felt very welcoming from the instructors and ViT members. The relatable experiences, utilizing real-world scenarios, help teach students effectively. The resources and knowledge from VetsinTech have provided a solid foundation for those who have served, are currently serving, and Service Member's spouses. I will be attending again for future catalogs/events. Thank you, ViT, for everything!
VetsinTech has been excellent. They are incredibly generous and professional. I was watching so many videos trying to study for COMPTIA SEC+ and I just wasn't getting it. I found VetsinTech and signed up for their class. The study materials and the zoom "face to face" with an actual experienced instructor was exactly what I needed. These individuals are top notch. Thank you VetsinTech.
This cohort has been great! I was trying to do it on my own with YouTube videos but having a knowledgeable instructor come on and teach us the material is so much better. I really appreciate everyone who makes this program work for us veterans
VetsinTech is such valuable organization for veterans in need of resources for their career change after the military. Some such as myself want to expand their knowledge or keep up to date with new certification exams and materials essential for career growth or even career change. I look forward to other courses offered to take advantage of the knowledgeable instructors who teach the courses.
VetsinTech is providing an excellent service for the Veteran community. Helpful staff and professional instructors, along with in depth course material that will prepare you for passing certification exams. I wish I knew about this orginization sooner!
VetsinTech was a great resource for me and I am so thrilled that there is a program like this for veterans to better themselves professionally after the military. I have gained so much valuable knowledge throughout my course. I want to give a special thanks to Anouar for being a great teacher and taking the time to provide a memorable learning experience and I am very grateful that I was able to participate in this class.
The material for Sec+ was very informative. I'm happy that ViT is an available resource for service members.
VetsInTech has given me an opportunity to better myself through education that will help me secure work after the military. This organization has been great to myself and my colleagues preparing us for civilian careers after separating or retiring from active duty. I feel better prepared for my transition into the civilian sector which has decreased my stress and it was all in part to those from Vets in Tech along with their amazing sponsors.
VetsinTech is an outstanding organization that truly supports the military community in transitioning into the tech industry. Their focus on Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Education provides a well-rounded foundation for veterans and military spouses alike. I have attended numerous events hosted by VetsinTech, and each one has been incredibly valuable, whether it’s learning about the latest trends in tech, exploring new career opportunities, or expanding my professional network. VetsinTech fosters a welcoming and empowering community that I am proud to be part of.
I joined vets in tech to help me make a career change from IT Networking to AI and Machine Learning, and it's been the best thing to ever happen. So grateful for having an organization that's out there helping vets. I was lucky to have found VETS IN TECH had available an AI/ML Cohort with a Large University. I enjoyed every moment of learning, the struggles and trials and successes of the entire thing. I have since earned (separate from the cohort) a few Certifications in AI and Machine Learning, Google Cloud Professional Machine Learning, and IBM Artificial Intelligence Engineer, and have become an EXPERT in Computer Vision through EDGE IMPULSE embedded systems AI course, wouldn't have done it without Vets in Tech's presence.
After 15+ years working as a project manager in Cyber Security, I found myself laid off and looking for a new positions. As I jumped into the new job market, I found things had changed greatly since I last was looking for a position. Companies wanted certifications to go with experience. All certifications that I had were expired, so I wasn't getting any interviews. Searching for assistance, I came across VetsInTech during a Veterans information meeting and signed up. Through them I was able to take a Palo Alto course and obtain my PCNSA certification. I am now taking a Tanium course through them. The training I have received has been amazing. The support by VIT and their Partners has been beyond what I expected. They have shown a level of care and dedication that you don't find everywhere else. I am forever grateful for the time they have invested in me.

I've been tracking this organization for 3 weeks, and I've been immensely impressed with the work they're doing for veterans. VetsinTech collaborates with various partners to assist veterans in resume writing, interview preparation, and mentorship within the tech industry. Definitely my prefered non-profit!!
I was not excited about having to watch the A+ and Net+ videos as a prerequisite to just the Sec+ class I was enrolled in but there were some topics I didn't know and it gave me a better sense of self and confortability to study and take the A+/Net+ test along with Sec+. I am very happy I chose to be apart of this course and greatful for VetsinTech for providing this opportunity. I will be telling all my Vet buddies about them!!!
VetsinTech has been my life vest, just when I about to sink in the life of the ups and downs VetsinTech came to my rescue. I’m so grateful and thankful for the opportunity to shine again with the support and help of VetsinTech. I had an amazing instructor that was patient.
This was my first Vets in Tech class, the security plus. The instructor, Anouar Bencheqroun, was very knowledgeable and helpful. He went through each lesson in detail. Also had a sense of humor and light-heartedness which helped engage us. He gave us example questions for the exam. He went through each of the answers and explained why the others were not correct. Great course and worth it!!
This is my 1stcourse through Vets In Tech with Annour as the instructor. He did an excellent job teaching about Security+ l. Vets in Tech as an organization is a great way for veterans and military spouses to improve their technical skills, which is helpful in any type of career improvement. I have taken two courses through Vets In Tech and they have both been great. The first was Introduction to Python with Instructors Daniel Kim and Brett Cunningham. The current course is AWS CCP and Security with Anaur Bencheqroun. I will be taking another course with him next month for AWS SSA. This is great organization that helps Active Duty, Veterans, and their spouses up-skill or transition to a new field in technology fields. They are doing a great job of providing great opportunities for veterans and their spouses. Keep up the great work.
I took the Sec+ course. I was a little skeptical at first. After the first day, the instructor impressed me. He was very knowledgeable, engaging, and his experience in the field was obvious. I look forward to taking more courses as I advance in my career goals.
Security+ course was amazing and instructor was really engaging and knew the material. It wasn't boring or dry despite the content being technical. Would highly recommend.
Vetsin Tech has been a Godsend. I was able to be a part of the AWS Solutions Architect cohort. It was taught by Anouar Bencheqroun. Mr. Bechegroun has worked for AWS and is very knowledgeable about the capabilities of AWS cloud. I have gained confidence in my ability to understand and apply this new skill.
I recently took an AWS Solutions Architect course with Anouar Bencheqroun and it was a great learning experience. Despite the large volume of information covered, the instructor did an excellent job of breaking things down into manageable chunks, making complex concepts easier to digest.
What truly stood out was how engaging he was during the Zoom sessions. He created an environment that felt just like an in-person class, actively engaging with students and ensuring that everyone was on track.
As always VetsinTech does an excellent job of delivering tech to veterans, and I truly appreciate them for their contributions and dedication. Overall, I highly recommend this class for anyone looking to learn AWS!
I started the AWS course with no prior knowledge, but by the time I completed it, I had a much better understanding of AWS, its services, and how they are used. The instructor, Anouar Bencheqroun, is extremely knowledgeable and provides a wealth of useful information. He genuinely cares about his students, ensuring that no one feels lost in the material.
Anouar Bencheqroun is amazing, a great case for military excellence in the civilian world. Great instructor who takes the time to walk people through their courses and makes sure that the whole class understands the assignments and course materials. He stays after class hours and makes himself constantly available for people to learn and better understand all the needed ELO's. This is a wonderful organization that helps veterans transition from the military and get new careers going in the most important way. When I was on my way out of the military I was so nervous and having found this organization it is the first time I feel confident that I can be able to support myself with all of my injuries. I hope you see the value that this organization brings to veterans and continue to support the organization with all of its pursuits in giving back to those who were willing to give everything for America and American freedoms.
As a U.S. Army Veteran, I am grateful for the opportunity to share my experience with VetsInTech and the outstanding instruction provided by Anouar Bencheqroun in the AWS Solutions Architect Associate course. VetsInTech is dedicated to empowering veterans by providing top-tier training in technology, and this program is a testament to that mission. The course covered an extensive range of essential AWS topics, including architecting on AWS, security and compliance, cost management, and advanced networking. Through this program, I gained not only technical knowledge but also the confidence to apply these skills in real-world scenarios. The curriculum was structured to ensure we grasped both foundational and advanced concepts, setting us up for success in AWS certification and beyond.
Anouar Bencheqroun’s expertise and teaching approach made a significant impact on my learning experience. His thoughtful and thorough instruction guided us through complex topics such as high availability, fault tolerance, application integration, and the AWS Well-Architected Framework. He created an engaging and supportive environment where veterans could learn effectively, ensuring that each concept was clearly explained and reinforced with practical applications. His ability to break down intricate subjects and make them accessible demonstrated not only his deep knowledge but also his dedication to our success. Thanks to Anouar and VetsInTech, I feel well-prepared to advance my career in cloud computing and technology.
I signed up with little to no knowledge (AWS Solutions Architect, Assoc). I put the work into the class, doing the labs and reading, and found it to be exceptionally helpful. Completing the labs gave me confidence, which motivated me to explore beyond the labs. I'm a disabled vet struggling to get into the workforce, even with a degree. This course, along with others I plan to take with VIT, has padded my resume and made me more employable. I am EXTREMELY grateful for these opportunities, and want to thank VIT for offering these, and taking care of us veterans. Special thanks to Anouar Bencheqroun, who led this class, answered my questions, and was happy to help.
I was in the AWS Solutions Architect and Sec+ cohort with Anouar Bencheqroun from Vets in Tech. What a phenomenal program!!. Anouar is very knowledgeable in the field, and explained all topics with great insight. Anouar in passionate about teaching, and helping veterans in tech.
VetsinTech is a great resource. I took the AWS cohort with Anouar Bencheqroun and it was a very thorough and informative four-week class. I highly recommend the class for anyone branching out into the cloud infrastructure and looking to learn about AWS in a relatable way.
VetsinTech is a great resource for Vets looking for a job or (like me) looking to get into a new industry. I believe that VetinTech will be a great program for all Vsts and military spouses get ahead. If you join you will not regret it. I highly recommend.
This course has been incredibly helpful in guiding me through the coursework for my Security+ certification. I now feel much more confident in my ability to take and pass the exam.
Throughout the course, I gained a solid understanding of essential security concepts, including network security fundamentals, risk management, and threat analysis. The detailed explanations of encryption protocols, access control methods, and secure network design were especially valuable. Additionally, the practical insights into incident response procedures and best practices for securing both on-premises and cloud environments have significantly improved my overall knowledge.
Overall, this course has provided me with the tools and confidence I need to succeed on the Security+ exam.
VetsinTech is an incredible resource for veterans looking to break into cybersecurity. I joined their Security+ program because I wanted to get more involved in the field but needed a push to start. The amount of resources they provide is outstanding—Pluralsight access (I wish I had more than one month!), mentorship, and a supportive community that truly encourages success.
Everyone is friendly and encouraging, but I found that communication and information weren’t always clear. That said, if you’re a veteran, I highly recommend this program—just be sure to commit your time and don’t be a no-show. The opportunities they provide are invaluable, and the knowledge you gain can open doors. Thank you, VetsinTech!

I am so grateful for this experience with VetsinTech. I wanted to upgrade my skills in Cybersecurity and explore options for working in this fast-paced environment. I applied to many veteran programs where it was kind of like a raffle... I won't name it. But it seems to have worked for other people but I could never get in no matter how many times I applied to those programs. When I discovered VetsinTech, I was able to apply and get in. They provide you with pluralsight training and align you with the best path forward and how to achieve that! Our instructor is a very funny guy. I love hearing his stories about his friend from Nigeria. So that pretty much sums up how awesome this program it and how it is benefitting veterans like me who are having a hard time competing with the masses! Thank you so much VetsinTech!!! Hooyah!
This nonprofit organization is great to help Veterans get training in different areas of technology/I.T. I am finishing up a course for Security+ to pursue my goals of working in Cybersecurity, and the knowledge gained is invaluable.
I currently work in I.T. after retiring from the USAF in 2018, and have been working on courses with UMGC to finish a BS and a MS, but have yet to finish an IT cert. With the help of VetsinTech, I'm making this goal a reality.
Thank you VetsinTech!

VetsinTech is a great organization. I was able to receive Security Plus training with access to Pluralsight. The videos and instruction were very knowledgeable. They offer many courses to veterans. I recommend signing up for one. They post training offerings on eventbrite, and their website.
I took an online CompTIA Security+ certification training course through VetsinTech that is self-paced learning with instructor-led sessions, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience.
The course was incredibly well-structured, striking a perfect balance between flexibility and guidance. The self-paced content allowed me to learn at my own speed, while the live instructor-led sessions provided an opportunity to dive deeper into complex topics and clarify doubts in real time. The instructors were knowledgeable, engaging, and approachable, which made even the most technical concepts easy to understand.
One of the standout aspects of this course was how effectively it broke down the fundamental concepts of cybersecurity. As someone stepping into this field, I appreciated how comprehensive the material was—covering everything from risk management and cryptography to network security and compliance. The hands-on labs and practical examples made the theoretical knowledge applicable to real-world scenarios, boosting my confidence.
The course not only prepared me for the Security+ exam but also helped me develop a solid foundation in cybersecurity skills. I now feel better equipped to pursue opportunities in this rapidly growing field.
Overall, this training was well worth the investment. Whether you’re just starting your cybersecurity journey or looking to enhance your skills, I highly recommend this course for its quality content, excellent instructors, and practical approach to learning.
Man, I have nothing to say, but, "thank you!" This organization was great! When I signed up for a "free Python" course, and a Sec+ course, I did not expect this many resources and this much commitment from the staff to help guarantee my success.. They exceeded any expectations I had. Thanks VetsInTech!
VetsInTech is an incredible organization dedicated to helping veterans transition into rewarding tech careers. Their focus on empowering veterans with access to certifications like CompTIA Security+ and AWS Solutions Architect Associate shows how much they understand the value of these credentials in the tech industry.
What makes VetsInTech stand out is the way they connect veterans with not just opportunities, but a supportive community. Their programs are designed with veterans’ unique experiences in mind, and they’re backed by a network of professionals and resources to help you succeed.
Thanks to VetsInTech, I’m on track to earn these industry-recognized certifications and feel confident about taking the next steps in my career. If you’re a veteran exploring tech, VetsInTech should be your first stop. They’re truly making a difference in the lives of those who’ve served.
I am a 20 year Navy veteran with experience in security administration. During a period of unemployment, I was able to take three online instructor led IT training course with Vets in Tech. The IT training courses were varied having attended a 3 week Python bootcamp, a one week Palo Alto NGFW course and a CompTIA Security+ bootcamp. These three varied IT courses allowed me to figure out what direction I wanted to take in the IT tech world which is Cybersecurity. I was able to pass the CompTIA Security+ certification boosting my confidence in implementing cybersecurity principles in my new position as a security manager. Passing the CompTIA Security+ certification was a key component in my selection to this position.
I really appreciate the mission of VIT. I took part in the Sec+ training, which included A+ and Net+. Three weeks of training (2-weeks self-study, 1 week live) provided a tremendous boost in my IT knowledge and prepared me for my certification test. Thanks VIT!
I thoroughly enjoyed the course and feel significantly more prepared for the upcoming exam. The instructor was highly knowledgeable and delivered the material in an engaging and clear manner, making complex concepts easier to grasp. I would wholeheartedly recommend this course to others who are looking to deepen their understanding and effectively prepare for the exam. After completing the course, I took several practice exams, and I was consistently achieving strong scores, which has further boosted my confidence. I am now looking forward to taking the test, knowing that I am well-equipped to succeed.
was looking to change career paths and looking for resources and got introduced to VETSINTECH, and didnt realize how great of a program it was. Literally helped me learn when i was struggling to find resources.
This was a great experience. I really enjoyed the instructor and everything was scheduled in a way that helped me gain better understanding of the material. I am grateful as a Military Spouse to have been offered this opportunity to grow and learn so I could pass my Security+ exam. I received a lot of insight on where I could go to further my study and was able to utilize Pluralsight for 4 weeks giving me time to study on their platform. I look forward to taking and passing the exam as I feel very prepared.
I wanted to take a moment to express my sincerest gratitude for the unforgettable experience I had through a recent VetsinTech opportunity. I was honored to participate in the U.S. Flag unfurling during the Baltimore Ravens vs. Cincinnati Bengals game on Thursday, November 7th, 2024. As a U.S. Air Force Veteran, this event was a remarkable opportunity made possible through the VetsinTech team's herculean efforts and DraftKings’ generosity.
While I initially hesitated to participate, the exceptional support on-site from the DraftKings representative made all the difference. From the outset, the rep created a welcoming and positive atmosphere. Their enthusiastic greeting, detailed guidance through the day's activities, and genuine effort to ensure everyone felt valued were extraordinary. They even captured and shared photos to commemorate the day, further enhancing the experience.
This professionalism and thoughtfulness exemplify the core values of VetsinTech and DraftKings. The rep's efforts not only made the event seamless but also left a lasting positive impression on all participants, including myself. Their dedication to supporting Veterans reflects the incredible mission of VetsinTech and its commitment to fostering meaningful connections and opportunities for those who have served.
Thank you, VetsinTech, for such an impactful organization and for providing experiences like these to Veterans. It was a privilege to be part of this event, and I deeply appreciate the work you and your team do to support our community.
As I prepared to retire from the US Navy after two decades of service, I was eager to transition into a civilian career in cybersecurity. VetsInTech's comprehensive training program caught my attention. The program offered a unique opportunity to earn a CompTIA Security+ exam voucher by completing prerequisite training in A+ and Network+. This structured approach ensured that students had a strong foundation in IT fundamentals before diving into advanced security topics. The training included a combination of live boot camp, video-led courses, and lab assignments, utilizing platforms like PluralSight and CyberVista for practice tests.
One of the most impressive aspects of VetsInTech's program was its flexibility. In addition to the required A+, Network+, and Security+ training, participants had the option to further their education with CySA+ and Pentest+ courses. These advanced courses included hands-on labs and exam practice tests, providing students with the opportunity to deepen their cybersecurity knowledge and skills. This comprehensive approach, combined with the fact that the program is offered to active duty and veterans at no cost, makes VetsInTech an exceptional resource for those looking to transition into a cybersecurity career.
The instructors and support staff at VetsInTech were incredibly helpful and supportive. Anouar Bencheqroun, the instructor for the Security+ course, was exceptionally knowledgeable and always willing to answer questions. The support staff, including Steve Marlow, were also readily available to assist with any technical issues or account-related problems. Even when a certain someone (ahem, me) made things more complicated by using two different emails, Steve was there to help sort things out.
I highly recommend VetsInTech to any service member or veteran considering a career in cybersecurity. The comprehensive training, supportive instructors, and affordable pricing (aka free) make this program an invaluable resource. This organization is truly making a difference in the lives of those transitioning out of the military.
I encourage others to support VetsInTech's mission by spreading the word about their programs or exploring partnership opportunities. Your support can help ensure that more veterans have access to the resources they need to succeed in their civilian careers.
VetsInTech is an incredible program. Their support was crucial in helping me get my Security+ certification. From the in-person classes led by Anouar Bencheqroun, to access to learning platforms and exam vouchers, they were outstanding.
Current National Guard soldier with the 25 series MOS. Signed up for 5-day Sec+ boot camp. Very intensive course but anything worth having requires hard work. The instructor provided a great learning experiences emphasizing certain key points. After completing all required coursework, they provided a voucher to take the exam. I will continue to study over the material. Thank you Vetsintech for aiding me in my journey into cybersecurity.
Lastly, the marketing budget should increase. Only a handful of soldiers in my unit knew vetsintech existed.
Great training courses in Technology for the veteran community. I've also enjoyed a few of their local meetups.
I am currently in the Web Development Fundamental course sponsored by DraftKings. The staff and instructors are professional, and their commitment to our success is unmatched. What VetsinTech offers are great resources that can and will impact veterans' careers.
The priviledge to learn from the scratch with no judgement and interactive sessions is terrific!
It is also great to collaborate with fellow veterans
I am very thankful for VetsinTech and their sponsor for changing my life. I exited the military as an Engineer and looking to pivot into the Information Technology field. I happened to hear about VetsinTech through the transition seminar and decided to check it out. I took a course and with that certification i was able to land my first job upon transitioning out of the military as an IT Project Manager. After a year in the IT Field, I am now back with VetsinTech getting more skillset to increase my skillset to achieve a higher paying position. Without the sponsors and VetsinTech, none of this short term success would have been possible. I feel that a simple thank you would not do you guys any justice. Thank you VetsinTech and sponsors!
Their are courses VIT is offering that I am interested in taking. I am pre-enrolled for them. The course I am currently taking is certainly needed. I needed a teaching style that would click for me. Thus far the curriculum is very helpful and non vague. Good Job, Keep this going.
I have been tremendously impressed with the training that ViT provides. They have the latest information in the industry and have the instructors to guide us on achieving our goals through their program. I highly recommend this non-profit to others.
Everyone that I have met through the organization has been beyond helpful and take seriously the effort into make veterans successful in the tech field. The opportunities offered are great resources with real impact to veterans careers.
I am a currently a transitioning member from the U.S. Navy. ViT has given me the confidence of me being able to succeed in the civilian world. I am taking the Web Development Fundamentals Sponsored by DraftKings, and the instructors are so good and helpful. Me coming into this course with no coding background, they have helped me understand and lear a lot, answered all questions, and stayed after hours to help every student with anything they need.
VetsInTech truly goes above and beyond in supporting veterans like myself as we transition into civilian life. The Front End Web Development course was an eye-opening experience. The instructors' dedication and expertise made learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript not only manageable but exciting. The sense of community among fellow veterans and the ongoing support from instructors made all the difference. I'm grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow with VetsInTech.
VetsInTech is great they take the time to break down everything and show you how it should be performed. I started off watching videos on YouTube but I could never stick with it. I have learned more here in three days than I have over the last three months I've been trying to teach myself. Looking forward to taking more classes here in the future.
VetsinTech is amazing, I have now completed the intro to python and advanced python course and I am so much more confident and excited to move on then I was before taking these two courses. I advise anyone that is qualified to take these courses and has a desire to get into the tech field to take these courses. On top of learning a lot, I met a lot of cool people.
This is to appreciate the management, staff and volunteers at VetsinTech for supporting the military community.
I was selected for the January 2024 Cybersecurity cohort. This was a four week instructor led session.
Mr. Anouar Bencheqroun was the instructor for our cohort. Aside from the coursework, he took time to inspire and give direction on the various cybersecurity pathways.
VetsinTech paid the full cost of the program including access to Pluralsight and exams vouchers. Through this cohort, I obtained my ConpTia Security+ certification.
I’m grateful to everyone who contributed towards the success of our cohort.
I want to take a moment to express my deep appreciation for the exceptional training I've now undergone with VetsInTech. I’m approaching retirement after more than two decades of service in the Navy. Embarking on a highly technical career path presents unique challenges, especially considering the need to catch up on significant knowledge gaps in the face of competition from well-established practitioners in the field. But the challenge seems more manageable thanks to these last three weeks of stellar CompTIA cybersecurity training led by Mr. Anouar Bencheqroun. His instruction was top-notch—he perfectly positioned us for success in passing the Sec+ exam (and progressing to further training).
Of the many organizations out there, VetsInTech has assumed a pivotal—perhaps THE pivotal—role in enabling individuals like myself to successfully transition into tech. Anouar, thanks again for the great course. Thanks to the VetsInTech team, and immense thanks to the generous sponsors who are providing the means for this organization to do its critical work! I’m grateful for you all!
VetsinTech has been a tremendous resource for me as I began seeking new employment and working towards the certifications and upskilling that I needed in order to be more successful in my career going forward. Everyone in the organization is extremely professional and have the best interests of the veterans and their family at heart. They are an invaluable resource and can't thank them enough for all the help.
ViT has been great...I wish I had found it much earlier on.
The initial onboarding process is a little confusing as I think they're still streamlining their user platform but DON'T think this is indicative of the product delivery.
There's not a whole lot of hand-holding, register for your course, show up at the appropriate times and do the work (a style us vets are quite accustomed to).
The instructors have been excellent, material focused and delivered in a manner which is (relative to the topic) easy to consume. Their platform partner for additional learning Plural Sight has also been a great resource with equal quality delivery.
I attended a similar course last year that cost the VA a fortune, consumed 2x as much time and delivered 10% of the knowledge in a very fragmented, elongated and childish fashion.
Thank you ViT for delivering a Veteran resource that cuts all of the red tape to help us succeed post service.
In my years of being separated, this is the first Veteran program that didn't require backflips, wasn't laced with a ton of corporate/non-profit non-sense, delivered as promised and wasn't veiled in opaque backend obligations that only serve the parent organization vs the community they support. The only request I've received in exchange for the course was an honest review of the course.
If you're an inbound student, try to get your housekeeping in order prior to the course, information is delivered out of a firehose but that's nothing new.
THANK YOU ViT for leading by example.
"And the Army goes rolling along"
VetsinTech is an amazing resource for Veterans. I've taken 2 classes with them now for Python and AWS. They provide an excellent learning environment for their students.
During a critical phase in my life, VetsInTech became the heartbeat of my journey. It wasn't just about financial aid and training; it was about finding a community that felt like home, something we often miss after leaving the service. VetsInTech wasn't just an organization—it was a family that understood the essence of our shared experiences.
Yet, what truly made VetsInTech irreplaceable was the sense of camaraderie it offered. As a veteran who transitioned to civilian life, the yearning for the tight bonds forged during service is profound. VetsInTech filled that void with a community of fellow veterans who became brothers and sisters in this new chapter. It was more than shared projects or networking events; it was the lifeline of shared stories, struggles, and triumphs.
In the heart of this community, I found motivation, encouragement, and a shared purpose. Whether collaborating on projects, attending events, or seeking advice from those who had walked similar paths, VetsInTech was the heartbeat that kept us moving forward together.
With their unwavering support, I not only earned my Security+ certification but also discovered personal and professional growth I hadn't imagined. It turned a solitary journey into a collective, heartwarming adventure—one where success wasn't just an individual achievement but a shared celebration within a community that embraced, uplifted, and understood the journey from the heart. Now, it is my desire to give back to this community.
Thank you to all my classmates, instructors, Steve, Brion, Stephanie, Daniel, Tyler, Patrick, Neeraj, Anouar, all sponsors, Abdul, and the rest of the VetsInTech team.
For a month, two hours a day, I embarked on an extraordinary journey mastering Python alongside a remarkable group of active military, reservists, and veterans. Sponsored by Disney and Lockheed Martin, this course wasn’t just about code; it was an invaluable expedition into uncharted territories. Together, we traversed from Python basics to unraveling intricate coding challenges, exploring modules like openpyxl, json, and requests, turning theories into tangible solutions.
Commencing with 60 eager minds, we collectively evolved into trailblazers of Python programming. Beyond mastering syntax, we cultivated problem-solving skills and the art of creation. Guided by expert mentors, we dived deep into loops, functions, and more, crafting skills that transcended the digital world.
Despite the hurdles faced, the course concluded with 40 determined and capable individuals. Each session was a treasure trove of knowledge absorption and collaborative teamwork.
As the course came to an end, our gratitude knew no bounds. This sponsorship empowered us, instilling not just coding prowess but also the confidence to surmount technological challenges. With heartfelt gratitude, we stand ready to make significant impacts well beyond our military and veteran roles.

I had such an incredible experience taking the Intro to Python course with VetsinTech (VIT), and I just had to share it! This program exceeded all my expectations, and I couldn't be happier with the support and knowledge I gained during my time with them.
The instructors at VIT are simply amazing. Brion and Beatrice, in particular, are like wizards when it comes to Python. They not only know their stuff inside out but also have this fantastic ability to explain complex ideas in a way that's easy to grasp. Right from the start, it was clear that they were passionate about teaching and were invested in our success.
But what really stood out for me was the personal touch. It was evident that the instructors genuinely cared about us as students. They went above and beyond by being available even outside of class hours to help us with our questions and challenges. This level of dedication and support made all the difference in my learning journey, and I always felt like a respected adult learner.
So, without a doubt, I'd give VIT a solid 5/5 stars. The combination of knowledgeable instructors, a nurturing learning environment, and their unwavering commitment to their students makes VIT truly exceptional. If you're a veteran or someone looking to dive into the world of technology, I can't recommend VIT highly enough. Thanks to them, I've gained valuable Python skills and had an amazing learning experience!
ViT offers an Introduction to Python course. Brion Lentell is an amazing instructor and the course materials were put together in a way that was accessible, but still contained enough steps to create a challenging environment for multiple skill levels.
Thanks again!
I am thrilled to share my experience with Vets in Tech's Intro to Python program. As a military spouse, the journey into the tech industry seemed daunting, but this program provided an incredible entry point.
My instructor, Brion, 's passion for Python and commitment to the military community's success were evident from day one. The curriculum, with hands-on learning and real-world examples, made complex concepts accessible. What set this program apart was the supportive community of fellow veterans/spouses. We shared challenges, collaborated on projects, and celebrated victories together.
The practical skills learned were immediately applicable, emphasizing problem-solving and critical thinking.
I am grateful for the support, education, and sense of community Vets in Tech provided. If you're a spouse considering a tech transition, I wholeheartedly recommend Vets in Tech. With the proper guidance and community, success is not just possible—it's guaranteed.
I just completed their Python fundamentals class and learned a ton from it. I really appreciate my instructor and the structure of the class. It was a lot to take in in a short amount of time, but it was definitely worth it. ViT is a great organization and I'm glad they are there to help my spouse and I learn some critical skills before I transition out of the military into the civilian workforce.
VetsinTech is a fantastic org for active members of the armed forces, veterans, and mil spouses. I am a Navy Veteran and have taken two courses with VetsinTech. They have helped me a ton in my job and I am thankful I was able to learn from professionals and given the chance to take courses from credible institutions for either free or at a very low cost. I look forward to seeing what other courses will be given at VetinTech. I highly recommend taking a look and seeing what they have to offer. The team is there to help and assist!
I really appreciate the excitement that this team shows in wanting to help us. A lot of the personnel are previous members, or have relatives that understand the struggle it takes to transition into the private sector of work. I took the python class and it was hard to say the least, but the instructors had a great influence in why I stayed in the program.
Python class was an overall great introduction to the fundamentals of coding. We were able to learn OOP techniques and process data using excel and JSON. In addition we had the opportunity to work collaboratively in a group to tackle projects. Highly recommend for anyone who might be interested in this career path.
Greatly appreciated VetsinTech!
Participated in a very instructive and useful Python class. Thank you for your support!
I recently took a month-long Python class, and I can honestly say it was better than any of the programming classes I took in college. The class was in the evening, so it was easy to schedule around work. It was also one of the cheapest training classes I have taken. If you are a veteran or currently in the military and want to learn technology, this is the best training you can get.
As a USAF veteran and a novice in the world of tech, VETSinTECH has been nothing short of a game-changer for me. This non-profit has crafted a Python course that not only teaches but truly empowers veterans like myself.
The curriculum is thoughtfully designed, starting from the essentials of Python, progressing to more complex topics like functional and object-oriented programming. Notably, the course also provides real-world skills, like handling data from diverse formats, equipping me for tech job scenarios.
VETSinTECH's supportive and attentive team made this learning journey a lot more accessible. This non-profit is clearly committed to aiding veterans in navigating the tech landscape, fostering both our skills and our confidence.
In summary, VETSinTECH is doing exceptional work. It’s not just a coding class—it's a community, a support system, and a launchpad for veterans in tech. I wholeheartedly recommend it to my fellow veterans seeking to explore the tech field.

Amazing organization! Awesome instructors! I've had a few other online cohort experiences with bootcamps and certificate programs and the calibur and instruction VetsinTech provides is Class A, top-notch!! A+++++++++++++++++++++++++...
The Python course was superb. I really appreciated the exercises; we worked through them and the instructors jumped in when we were at an impasse. The focus on manipulating data into information made the Python particulars real to me. I learned an awful lot, but I also know how much I need to learn and how I can do that.
An absolutely invaluable resource available for all veterans. I took their python course and was very well organized and well taught. Even if you have never used a computer for anything more than email or social media you will come away with a basic understanding of python. I'll be on the lookout for future courses.
Vetsintech has helped me a lot with filling in gaps in my knowledge of network security by offering Great courses and certifications that is valuable in today's job market. Thank you so much and hope it continues in the future as well.
VetsinTech is an outstanding nonprofit whose work impacts veterans in so many ways. I had the opportunity to attend one of their classes and it was informative, meaningful, and geared toward developing real world skills. Brion taught my cohort how to code in python and especially helped me after class was over to understand the material. I am extremely grateful and lucky I came across this organization. I know VetsinTech offers many more programs and events, and I am eager to participate. Thank you VetsinTech team for all your hard work and dedication to your mission. - Noe Gallegos
VetsinTech is an organization that truly cares about veterans. They provide world class trainings in bite size chunks of the latest and greatest in programming and cybersecurity. I am so grateful for the extraordinary opportunity for learning tech skills at low to no cost. Thank you VetsinTech!
Took their Sec+ bootcamp. Amazing. The instructor was top notch, process was well set up from prerequisites to course schedule. They provided a voucher for the test and if needed a retest voucher. Could not be happier.
I attended the Python Fundamentals course in May 2023. The course structure, materials, and instruction were fantastic. Also, the instructors are phenomenal! They truly want to help you learn and succeed. On multiple occasions, they spent extra time with me to help me understand concepts and processes that I was struggling with. I had no experience with Python prior to the course and was able to complete the course and now feel comfortable working with and utilizing Python. I highly recommend the VetsinTech organization and the Python course.
I have taken multiple courses with VetsInTech and my experience has always been the same. Their instructors are knowledgeable and will provide all the support you need to learn the material. The admin team is on top of things and do a great job with communication with orientation and providing any pre-course material needed. I'm grateful for having found VetsInTech and will continue to recommend them to my colleagues.
I took the Python Course with VetsinTech in 2023. The course format, materials and resources were extremely thorough and helpful. The instructors were very knowledgeable. This course has motivated me to continue to continue additional studies and projects in Python and Data Science. I would recommend this course to others.
am writing this review to express my profound gratitude for the incredible experience I had during the Python class at Vets in Tech. From the very beginning, it was evident that the staff's dedication and unwavering patience created an atmosphere where learning and growth were not only possible but encouraged. I am truly grateful for this life-changing journey.
First and foremost, the staff's dedication to their students' success was unmatched. They went above and beyond to ensure that each of us understood the concepts and techniques taught in the Python class. Their tireless efforts to provide comprehensive explanations, along with practical examples, truly helped me grasp the intricacies of the language. The instructors' commitment to their craft and their genuine desire to see their students succeed is something I will always admire.
Moreover, the patience displayed by the staff was exceptional. They understood that learning a programming language like Python could be challenging for newcomers, especially for someone like me who had no prior coding experience. However, the instructors never made me feel inadequate or rushed. They patiently addressed every question and concern, taking the time to explain things in a way that was clear and easy to understand. This unwavering patience allowed me to build a strong foundation in Python and kept me motivated throughout the course.
The staff at Vets in Tech created an inclusive and supportive learning environment that fostered camaraderie among the students. They encouraged collaboration and teamwork, which not only enhanced our understanding of Python but also cultivated a sense of community. The instructors were always accessible, both during and outside of class hours, ready to assist and guide us through any challenges we encountered. This level of support and dedication made me feel valued as a student and gave me the confidence to embrace new challenges.
I cannot emphasize enough how grateful I am to have been a part of the Python class at Vets in Tech. This experience has not only equipped me with valuable skills but also instilled in me a sense of perseverance and determination. The dedication and patience of the staff have made a lasting impact on my learning journey, and I am confident that the skills I acquired will open doors to new opportunities.
To anyone considering taking a course at Vets in Tech, I wholeheartedly recommend it. The staff's dedication and patience are truly remarkable, creating an environment where students can thrive. Thank you, Vets in Tech, for empowering veterans like myself and for your unwavering commitment to our success.

I'm really grateful to take the python fundamental sponsored by Lockheed Martin. Very professional lecturing and real life projects. Highly professional instructors with 100% support after class hours.
Vets in Tech is an amazing program! I took the Front End DevOps course, which helped me understand the html/css and js a bit better. The way the class is set up so everyone can be involved and included helped me learn the concepts a bit better and feel more confident about speaking on front end items. The teachers were knowledgeable, patient, and entertaining. The whole program is refreshing and a great way to learn!
The Front End Web Development course and the instructors were incredible! I was nervous about starting this program because I had no prior experience with HTML, CSS, or JavaScript, but now I feel comfortable with creating a basic webpage. This course has also ignited a fire in me to dig deeper into these languages and learn more. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable and very patient in making sure everyone's questions are answered before moving forward. They even offer one-on-one office hours outside of the class.
I attended VetsInTech's Draft King's Front End Developer four week cohort from July to August, 2022. The staff and instructors were amazing and took around 30 learners of varying skill levels through a very well-designed four-week course on HTML, CSS, and Javascript. The course material was very relevant and current and taught by instructors working in various developer roles at tech companies. Vets In Tech does something amazing and commendable by bringing this level of education to veterans and the military community thanks to generous donors and corporate partners. Thank you to DraftKings, Vets In Tech, and their fantastic instructors.
I really appreciate the training I received in this program. I went to another coding school and did not finish the course. The instructors were rude, condescending, and unhelpful. It really diminished my confidence that I could ever learn to code and I almost gave up my dream of becoming a software engineer.
Thankfully, VetsinTech and DraftKings really encouraged me and gave me a great introduction to coding for free! They were helpful and patient with me. I credit Daniel, Tyler, Stephanie, and the rest of the VetsinTech team for giving me enough training that I feel that I can complete another BootCamp course and transition into a programming job. I had a lot of fun during this class and I look forward to taking other courses with VetsinTech soon! I will recommend this program to all of my friends and any other veterans or spouses who are interested in transitioning into tech like me! Thank you all so much!
This is my second course with VetsInTech and I continue to be impressed. They live out their mission of "supports our current and returning veterans with re-integration services, and by connecting them to the national technology ecosystem. ViT is committed to bringing together a tech-specific network, resources, and programs for our veterans interested in Education, Entrepreneurship, and Employment – the 3E’s!"
Each and every staff member has been supportive and show that this is not just a job but a passion. The coursework is well thought out with great examples and real world applications. Thank you VetsInTech
I first heard about this program from a fellow ex-member of my unit. We both were curious to see what it was all about as there are already many programs out there similar but none really where we live and specific to the technology aspect of the civilian world. After signing up for their intro to Javascript program we both immediately felt how serious this programed cared about its people from the instructor to student. We stuck through it and completed the course together, through this process I learned a valuable lesson which is never stop learning. At the time I was an inventory technician contracted out to a major tech giant with a goal to eventually be a full time employee there or somewhere similar. I continued my online education through other training platforms and even returned back very recently to complete a Python course they offered fully online. I can honestly say if it wasn't for their programs showing me what I am capable of outside of the work/school enviornment I do not think I would have made it to the position I am in today. Through continued online education I managed to work up the ranks in that tech giant orginization and become regional supervisor. After careful consideration I then decided to part ways and finally became a FTE at a well established news agency still working in the IT department. I now hope to apply my most recent learnings to this job to again propel my career forward as I have done so before. For those on the fence let this be the nudge to bring you over to a greener pasture.
Vets in Tech helped me realize I could wrap my head around these concepts which escaped me for decades! Now actively pursuing education and a career in data. Thank you!
PS: super awesome and engaging instructors. Just outstanding.
During my SkillBridge at a data science company, I decided to take the ViT Python for Data Science course to better understand the role I was pursuing. It was my first ViT program, and I didn't know what to expect...figured it would be a series of videos or something. I was totally wrong, and, throughout the course, totally impressed with the instructor (Daniel Kim) and the TA (Brion Lentell).
First of all, I was impressed with Daniel's patience right off the bat, as the experience level of the cohort varied considerably, and yet he took time to ensure everyone remained on the same page from the start. He explained concepts thoroughly, and the lessons, all accessed via VS Code, we were well constructed and logical.
As I realized how rapidly I was learning over the course of just a few classes, I came to really look forward to attending and learning every night. Weekend projects were simultaneously challenging and fun, and both Dan and Brion remained available at nearly all hours for backup support when required.
Ultimately, the course has led me to dig deeper into both Python and programming in general, and it has pushed my desired career trajectory in an entirely new direction.
Whether you're looking to see if you might like programming, or want to better understand devs in your workplace, or just want to do something for fun, you won't find many better opportunities than ViT's introductory Python class.
Tremendous advocate for Veteran training in information technology. I was able to complete valuable training and certification, worth thousands of dollars, in Cyber Security at no cost.
VetInTech training initiatives for Veterans gave me the opportunity to learn basic Python. The instructors were knowledgeable; the coursework challenging and relevant. I feel that I have the building blocks to now pursue coursework at elite coding schools and boot camps. This is the first step in my Data Analytics career and I am so thankful for VetsInTech for giving me the start.
It's not easy to build a boot camp for front-end web development that will only last 2 hours a day for 4 weeks. Yet, VetsinTech does a very good job of presenting a structured course that helps you build foundational skills in HTML/CSS and a bit of Javascript.
I'd recommend this course to anyone who is curious about web development and wants to see if that might be the right pick for them. The Instructors were fantastic and provided after-hours support to anyone needing additional help.
One of the greatest program for veterans transitioning out of the military. Whether you are 20 years retired or 4 years and done, VetsinTech can help. I am a 26 year USMC veteran transitioning out of the military and the skill set obtained by one of the VetsinTech program has made a huge impact in my life and I feel more comfortable in transitioning. Though I wish there was a Back end to go with the Front End Web development, the instructors and coordinator were awesome every step of the way. Thank you Abdul for coordinating this and a special Thank You to Daniel Kim and Steve Marlow. For you guys to be able to train a Combat Rock like me speaks very highly of your patience and professionalism.

This is a great place to connect with fellow veterans who have an interest in technology. The courses they provide can help any veteran who is interested in various aspects in the field of computer science. Whether you have experience in the field or if you're trying to break into the field, they can provide a course and help connect like-minded veterans in technology.
I've been trying to learn how to code for almost a year now, and I've run across many obstacles along the way. This course assisted me in overcoming some of those stumbling blocks and gaining a better knowledge of Web Development in general. The course teachers were outstanding and went above and beyond to assist students. Anybody who is interested in learning to code or who is unsure if learning to code is something they want to pursue should take this course, in my opinion. It will take effort and some outside research, but it will be well worth the effort you put in. I had a good time, and it has given me the confidence to continue my coding education. VetsInTech did an excellent job!
VetsinTech is terrific organization. I have taken several courses which has permitted me to get certified in in multiple areas. The staff is wonderful . The coursework is great. I also like the fact they sponsor different events to assist veterans, military members and spouses with virtual events. The support is spot on. I'm glad I'm part of the VetsinTech family and wish them nothing but success! Abdul is a rock star!
I am a US Air Force Veteran who served during Desert Storm. I found myself in need of a career transition. The Vets in Tech program has helped me to get the basic skills and knowledge I needed to get started in programming with Frontend Web Development. I am truly thankful and humbled by the care, dedication, and support they have given me to retrain and start in a new career. Thank you to those companies that have sponsored Vets in Tech and made this possible.
The only reason I have to give it in the middle is that I had to drop out, but I kind of wish I didn't see firsthand from the one day that I was in the class. Everything is pretty much what I wanted for in a class to learn for coding, and for any veteran who wants to learn, now is the time to do, and VetsinTech is the place to learn from. #NoCAP
I would highly recommend Vets in tech. The instructors, the coursework, the commaraderee with other veterans and military spouses make it so valuable. You don't know what you don't know, but learning it is so empowering and fun. Great training!
I've had an amazing experience taking the Front-end Web Development course with VetsinTech. The instructors were motivating and knowledgeable. Working towards a MVP and showcasing was an unforgettable experience.
VetsInTech offers great programs and networking events for veterans. I had the pleasure of attending a web development boot camp they hosted over four weeks. During the boot camp, I got to work with other veterans looking to learn to code and with amazing instructors who always had the time to offer their assistance, even after class hours. VetsInTech has helped me tremendously as I navigate the transition process from the military.
I have been working to learn how to code for close to a year and have encountered many roadblocks. This course allowed me to overcome some of those roadblocks and gain a stronger understanding of Web Development. The course instructors were fantastic and went above and beyond. I would recommend this course to anyone who is interested and is trying to find out if learning to code is something they want to pursue. It requires work and some outside research but is well worth the time you put in. I had fun and it has encouraged me to continue to learn how to code. Great job VetsInTech!
I cannot say enough about VetinTech. They are a very professional, care about their mission.
In my class there were veterans and military spouses in various life stages.
The instructors were top notch and provided ample opportunities for all students to succeed.
The list of high tech employers that work with ViT is a good indicator of what a great organization this is.
I was looking to transition into a more technical career and VetsInTech provided amazing opportunities to make that happen. Through them I was able to get multiple certifications with AWS, my Security+ as well as begin my coding journey with Python.
I feel very lucky to have had this organization recommended to me. I have been able to take a multitude of training that has greatly increased my personal confidence and knowledge in the IT industry while also adding to my employment marketability. I make a point to recommend this organization to every service member I meet. The course provided are schedule friendly and the instructors are top notch. VetsinTech provide a great service to members and spouses of the United States Armed forces
I am so thankful that Vets in Tech exist! I wish it existed back in 2010 when I first got out of service. I really felt alone, and hopeless in a world that was supposed to be home. I really had to figure things out on my own. And felt that way for the longest time until recently being more active in the Veteran Community. I was recommended to look into Vets in Tech by an Air Force Officer colleague. He talked about a community of Veterans that work in the tech industry. I thought it is great to see if I could network as I’m a Realtor who specializes in helping Vets utilize their benefits to become homeowners. My first Vets in Tech was a mixer where I got to hear CO CEO of Salesforce speak about his support in hiring Veterans. As well as other top-level execs speak about the same or other Veterans talk about their journey on how they achieved success after the Military. It was so uplifting to hear the support, and the paths of other Veterans like myself make it in Silicon Valley.
Even though I was starting to get great momentum in my Real Estate career I heard about the Vets in Tech Coding Bootcamp for Front End Web Development. Something that is still instilled with me from the Military is that the better cross-trained the individual is in taking responsibility for many hats; the easier it is for the individual to get promoted and achieve success. So I decided to take the Bootcamp to have a better understanding of my own Business Website, and have the credentials just in case I need it in the future. Coming from a business background, I honestly got overwhelmed on day 1. I thought it wasn’t for me. But through the patience and support of my instructor and Vets in Tech contacts. As well as the encouragement of my Veteran peer classmates. I was actually able to finish! I haven’t felt this type of comradery pushing me to achieve something when I wanted to ring the bell and quit since I was in the Military.
I really feel Vets in Tech helped me in so many ways as a Military Veteran Realtor. They have helped me network with other Veterans in the Tech Community. Help me strengthen my technical skills which allows me to reach out to other Veterans and potential clients via online platforms. Which allows me to help Veterans utilize their benefits to become homeowners in a not so friendly VA buyer area. Along with serving on my Non-Profit VAREP (Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals) I also was on the front lines helping the new Blue Water Navy Act VA Loan lobbied and passed in Washington DC. A bill that helps Vietnam Veterans claim benefits that have been deserved for way too long now, and Veterans in high-cost counties like the Bay Area. I’ve now helped 6 Veterans and their families become homeowners in the last year alone. It truly is my passion to continually serve the Veteran Community, and I’m so glad to be aligned with Vets in Tech.
I was first introduced to VetsinTech in April of 2019, when I heard about an upcoming web-development class that was free to veterans. I jumped at the opportunity to learn and grow, and I am so glad that I did. It was two-weeks long and hosted at the DraftKings headquarters in Boston. The location was beautiful, the company was extremely kind to us, and the other students in the class were really awesome. Everyone got along very well, and there quickly developed a bond between the cohort, and I still speak to three of the 15 or so classmates on a regular basis! Our instructor was top-notch; he was able to not only answer our questions, but in many situations he taught us how to find the answers ourselves. The course itself couldn't be beat, as we learned HTML (the structure of a website), CSS (the styling), AND JavaScript (the buttons/functionality). During the time we spent working on our own website, we all laughed and joked, shared tips/tricks, and all-around just enjoyed the great work that the program enabled us to do.
At the end of the course, we presented our websites, had a tour of the building and finally a networking event, where employers from a number of different tech companies were present and actively seeking to identify talent that they could welcome into their firms. I was still in school after getting out of the Marines Corps so I was not available for the picking, but it was very encouraging to see how much they truly wanted to find a place for us to be employed at.
Because of how impressed I was with this program and the amount of true value I saw in it, I decided to say join the team as a VetsinTech Ambassador for the Boston Chapter. I have been to multiple events with this organization and they have not let me down, so I hope that anyone who reads this decides to seek out this great resource if they are able.

I served as a chapter lead for ViT and had the opportunity to meet and mentor more vets than I thought was around in Las Vegas. An awesome nonprofit helping prior-military servicemembers getting into the world of technology through education, employment, and entrepreneurship.
Thank you Katherine Webster for all that you do for the military community, and the opportunities provided by VetsinTech Education, Employment and Entrepreneurship programs.
A major key to career success is connecting with organization and leaders who have experience, knowledge and diverse networks of business professionals. VetsinTech gives you the opportunity to earn certifications and connect with industry leaders who are looking to support Active Duty Military, Veterans, Military Spouses and Veteran Spouses.
VetsinTech is an excellent non-profit that really has the best interest of Veterans looking to transition into the IT field in mind. I took the CompTIA Security+ce course through VetsinTech and only had to pay $10 for outstanding training from InfoSec Institute and also received a FREE exam voucher! The benefit of the course went beyond earning a certification, I was able to network and meet many Veterans who were already working in IT or were transitioning into IT. Thank you VetsinTech for providing such a great training program, and also the opportunity for like-minded veterans to connect! Even after the boot camp was over, my classmates and I are still keeping in touch and planning to study for more certifications together!
VetsinTech is a program that provides top notch technical training to Veterans, transitioning military, and their spouses. I recently completed the CompTIA Security+ training and passed on my first attempt.
The instructor did a great job of breaking down the concepts and explaining things well. He also showed us by doing, not just reciting information. Seeing the practical application of the concepts helped increase the understanding and comprehension. He also discussed test taking strategy and built our confidence. So far all the participants in our cohort have passed the challenging test.
One of the best parts of VetsinTech is that they provide multi-faceted support beyond just a technical class. They provided a platform for me to find a mentor in the industry. They are allowing us 90 day access to the InfoSec platform in order to continue to learn at our own pace. They have many resources and are very generous with their time and talent. They are committed to our success and it shows.
Lastly, I appreciate the ability to connect with fellow Veterans and transitioning service members. Our cohort established a Discord channel and have been chatting since class ended. We have also connected via LinkedIn. Connecting in this way has been one of the best parts of the experience.
Bottom Line: The professional staff at InfoSec and VetsinTech are with you the entire way. If you put in the work you will succeed.
In 2014, VetsinTech connected me with a community of like-minded veterans that I never knew existed.
From the San Francisco Bay Area to my recent move to Boston, VetsinTech continues to provide me with high-tech training free of cost, direct access to employers and entrepreneurs, and above all a spirit of networking and comradery. I'm proud to say that I volunteer with the New England chapter.
As a Veteran, I am very proud having volunteered, worked with and outreached for, our one and only outstanding - VetsinTech. VetsinTech goes above and beyond for veterans in many ways. Because of VetsinTech's partnership with many high-tech companies in support for our veterans, I am proud to be Sacramento Chapter Leader. VetsinTech does great for what it’s good for, esp. collaborating with cyber companies in CA BayArea; and negotiating free trainings for veterans that our troops need tobe able to manage themselves with IT industry in this civilian world. VetsinTech has helped many veterans succeed in their career. VetsinTech goes out of its way to bridge quality for our veterans with many modern-day companies, so that our vets can be better acknowledged with many companies when it comes to hiring, jobs and promotions. Besides, outreach for VetsinTech is phenomenal where they bring veterans together under one roof, and advocating benefits to our veteran, thus providing awareness. I am highly impressed with the backend work VetsinTech team does. For sure, I will always continue to help VetsinTech grow and help them expand as long as I have energy.
I have nothing but great things to say about VetsinTech. To this day I have participated in three events and have seen nothing but outstanding people working to make veterans and spouses lives better through affordable training that is readily available and easily understandable. Whenever VetsinTech has an event, I enroll, because I know it will be very professional and provide cutting edge material.
I have volunteered and will continue to do so. I love being around fellow Veterans and the networking opportunities through VetsinTech are amazing and unmatched.
I have volunteered with VIT for over a year. Since my time there I have personally been able to connect with and help hundreds of veterans looking for jobs, schooling, and starting their own business. They have strong connection and ties to some of the best tech companies such as Google, Intuit, and Comcast to name a few. They are always finding new ways to reach the veteran communities across the nation to help them find that opportunity and to take that next step into tech.
Wow! What an awesome opportunity. I was so lucky to be able to get into this Front End Web Development course. I live in an area that doesn’t get much opportunity for availabilities like this, but due to the COVID, VetsInTech offered this class virtually.
It could not have been a better experience.
Thanks to Katherine Webster and her team at VetsinTech and the team at Galvanize, for putting this together as well as the integral sponsorship by DraftKings, Inc. It was phenomenal! A great learning experience and a fabulous opportunity for collaboration with other veterans.
If you find yourself interested and the opportunity arises, I strongly recommend getting into it.
Special thanks to Carl Corsini and Justin Chau, who put in maximum effort to make it a pleasurable & valuable learning experience.
I've worked with VetsinTech for over 3 years, and as a partner for 3 years prior. This organization is doing so much to support veterans as they transition out of service and into careers in technology. The connection to tech skills education, employment, and entrepreneurship programs is unmatched. The partners include the top employers in tech, and all programs are free to veterans and military spouses. There are specific programs for Student VetsinTech, Women VetsinTech, and the community is 63% minorities, as VIT serves the enlisted ranks. The small team is dedicated and does the work of the team 5x the size.
How frequently do you find a CEO who drives you to do your best? Have you ever had a leader that is continually building you up, equipping you with crucial and critical feedback, and who you feel is always in your corner? I have met countless leaders during my time; some stand out immediately to me.
Katherine is the epitome of such leaders: an exceptional servant-leader.
Katherine has an open-door policy to those in her charge and has advanced surpassing her work to help out her team when the need arises.
I am seldom astounded at her tenacious determination and perseverance to keep a smile both virtually and physically in her daily mentorship, outreach, and ownership.
As a Veteran transitioning back into the civilian workforce, VetinTech as provided with the tools and training to spark my interest in the technology career field. The hardest part of my transition into the tech industry is getting the proper education and experience necessary to get noticed by employers. VetinTech has provided me with the jump start to gain the necessary education and even hosted events for me to meet potential employers. VetinTech is great resource for all veterans.
VetsinTech (ViT) is probably the best organization I have seen during my transition outside of the military. As a USMC veteran with more time overseas than stateside, it can be challenging to transition back into the civilian workforce. ViT has course offerings for many of the various facets of tech. I have taken advantage of many of them and can say that without ViT, I would not be where I am at in my career. The web development course gave me the javascript understanding to proceed into full-stack development. The Security+ certification course made me understand why security is essential and where security flaws may present themselves. The nanodegree program allowed me to bolster my portfolio with full-stack application in a distance education learning curriculum. The Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA) course was one of the best classes I have ever taken due to the breadth and depth of the curriculum. If you do not know, a large part of the market is dominated by Cisco, which has a core offering of useful services. Palo Alto Networks provides some new energy and technology into the same space and has technology that easy to use and to understand. I was able to be taught Palo Alto Networks firewall essentials and broader knowledge, such as packet management. I was also able to use their virtual boxes to have a playground to get familiar with various aspects of their application.
Summary: If you are looking for an organization that genuinely cares, has a team of people dedicated to the integration of the military community into tech, and a wide array of fantastic courses for low (sometimes the cost of a cheap lunch) or no cost then you need to connect with them right away.
I attended the Wed Dev class in Jan and the PAN Networking class in Dec. The VetinTech program offers wonderful opportunities for Veterans to learn tech. Ms. Melisa Wright did an outstanding job in supporting our classes. This is the best benefit for Veterans in the Bay as well as the surrounding area. I love tech now
