Programs: In 2017, the transitional housing program at veterans place had its sixth full year since new staff was added in 2011. These new positions added a great deal of capability to the agency in the areas of case management, employment services, and community building within our client population. With the improved scope of operations, we continued to see growth in both average occupancy and successful graduation rates. In 2017, we continued to have one of the highest rates of placement into permanent housing in this region.
2017 was the seventh full year of operations for our homeless veterans day program. While the day program is still the smaller of our two programs, it meets a specific need here in the pittsburgh community and continues to be the only program of its kind in the region. By combining basic needs services such as meals, clothing, and transportation with case management and extensive referral services throughout our network of partners, this program is able to act as a gateway for homeless veterans to a broad continuum of focused services here in the region. Through our extensive outreach efforts, we were able to effectively reach to provide services to homeless veterans in the pittsburgh region in 2017.

Veterans place has received this grant in 2017 for a period of three years.
