This garden is designed as a living tribute to those who bravely fought and died in the war on terror and those who are still in the military continuing the noble cause. The garden is both tranquil and respectful in it's effort to promote healing for those left behind and extends distinction and veneration for those who gave all they could give in service to their country. It is tastefully and artistically designed, well maintained and offers solace to anyone who enters it's perimeters.
Gold Star Garden is a living memorial dedicated to all veterans that will name the fallen in the war on terror. Located in York's Memorial Park in Pennsylvania, the Gold Star Garden features a series of garden rooms or spaces planted in a certain color to represent a core value as taught in all branches of the US Armed Forces. When walking through the red room, for example visitors are invited to consider courage, orange duty & service, Yellow integrity and remembrance, green healing, blue fidelity, purple valor and white for honor. All rooms are connected to the center in an expression of unity. Now in development, all who appreciate the work of our service men and women are invited to participate. http://www.GoldStarGarden.com for details. Dedication set for June 2011, but we needs friends to helps make the dream possible. The Gold Star Garden is inspired by the loss of my son SPC Martin Kondor in Iraq in 2004.
