I love going to the coffee hours. I love, absolutely love taking part in all the SHERO events. They do so much for so many people in need. Distributing food to veterans in need. The people saw are always friendly.

When I have needed assistance, a helping hand or a kind word I know I can turn to the Veterans Association of Bristol County, I know that I and the my well being matter to them, I have found them to be very helpful and supportive they make me know I matter and making each visit personalized by talking to me and not at. Kim introduced me to a great read " Stone Soup " which really describes the Veterans Association of Bristol County. If your not familiar with the story Stone Soup it's a European folk story in which hungry strangers convince the people of a town to each share a small amount of their food in order to make a meal that everyone enjoys, and exists as a moral regarding the value of sharing. In varying traditions, the stone has been replaced with other common inedible objects, and therefore the fable is also known as axe soup, button soup, nail soup, and wood soup." Its so much more then I can adequately describe in this space allotted.. Its a warm , sincere welcoming smile, an ear to listen and not pass judgement but offer support and suggest some direction to a resolution. a kind word and a helping hand up not out.
