The organization is commited to funding projects involving university-startup company teams addressing a techncial challenge faced by the company partner, as well as some program-related investments directly in companies. The organization also connects startup companies to potential private investors, runs a regional startup accelerator program with a partner in washington state, co-funds manufacturing scale-up consulting projects, helps companies apply for federal sbir/sttr funding, funds interns to work at startup companies, and helps to showcase startup companies to investors and partners at major events. The organization also makes awards to universities to conduct research projects that will help move technologies closer to commercialization.
