Mission: The vero beach museum of art provides cultural leadership and enrichment for the public through a wide variety of educational, studio art and humanities programs; a diversity of quality exhibitions; and the collection, preservation and presentation of important american and international works of art.
Programs: Exhibitions & collections - the museum provides cultural enrichment for the public through temporary art exhibitions, exploration in the humanities, professional studio and classroom instruction for all ages, and a permanent art collection. New programs, supported by marketing strategies to reach new audiences are created to encourage increased participation. Exhibitions presented during 2014-2015 included: holmes gallery - walter wick: games, gizmos & toys in the attic (attendance 4,747), celebrating haitian art: restoring the spirit (attendance 7,026), and art on & off the wall: embracing space & color (attendance 10,293); schumann gallery - selections from the permanent collection : glass (attendance 2,318), carol brown goldberg: recent work (attendance 5,005), and howard ben tre: new sculpture (attendance 9,666); titelman gallery - selections from the permanent collection: works on paper (attendance 1,926), kinetic sculpture: the poetics of movement (attendance 5,073), and environmental photography: (attendance 9,829); stark gallery - selections from the permanent collection (attendance 17,980); beckwith sculpture park - sculptures from the permanent collection (attendance 6,372).
education - the museum offers various educational activities and events to the general public, including art classes, film appreciation classes, lectures and seminars, programs, workshops, and reference library. During the year several classes and workshops were held, as well as a summer art camp, with total enrollment/attendance of 2,994. In addition, lectures, seminars, opera studies, and film series were held, with total attendance of 6,899. During the year various school programs, adult public programs, and community partnership outreach programs were held with a total attendance of participants 4,689. Various youth and family programs were held which included holiday @ musuem, children's art fest, kidz artshops, and tours with total attendance of 5,043.
