vcci provides counseling services to individuals, couples and families. We seek to offer hope, support, compassion and the opportunity for healing and personal growth. With offices in south burlington, rutland, st. Albans, swanton and middlebury, our dedicated counselors conducted over 2,812 counseling sessions. To ensure affordability and access to all, reduced or free counseling services are provided. 15% of vcci's services were provided at reduced or free rates.
vcci's emergency aid program provides limited emergency resources to individuals and families who face unexpected crises in their lives or worry about how they are going to meet their most basic needs. It is designed to help individuals and families meet basic needs that are not or cannot be funded through other resources. While limited financial assistance is certainly not the solution to the problem, clients are empowered by receiving support and information regarding resources and opportunities in addition to financial assistance. Through this service, vcci also offers clients case management. Individuals and families learn to navigate through systems and community resources. The goal is to empower the individual and/or family through education, advocacy, and networking to improve their ability to be self-sufficient. Vcci's emergency aid program served 1,814 individuals throughout the state of vermont. The prison ministry program provides support to inmates in correctional facilities, to those who have been recently released and to their families. The goal is to give every individual a sense of hope and knowledge of self-worth. Vcci provides some immediate financial assistance to newly released inmates to help them have a chance at a new start. Vcci helped 46 individuals, providing over $12,000 of aid.
