Programs: Cuba programmost of our programming work for 2017 was part of our cuba-us agroecology network, an initiative whose mission is to connect people, institutions and movements in cuba and the us to build more ecologically resilient, socially just and economically fair farming systems. We do this by raising awareness about cubas agroecology advances and challenges, facilitating partnerships and building capacity amongst stakeholders through exchanges, courses, conferences and workshops. In addition, we work to amplify cuban voices internationally, and to channel resources and opportunities to our counterparts on the island. In 2017 we organized several exchanges including: bringing cuban farmer as keynote speaker at a regional conference in vermont; organized national tour in the us of 6 cuban experts on sustainability; organized 55 person delegation of us based farmers and experts on agroecology to international agroecology conference in cuba; coordinating the editing of a special issue on cubas agrifood systems with 8 articles by cuban authors; cusan experts spoke at various conference in cuba and the us; and we continuously help build relationships between organizations in the us and in cuba.
