Mission: The venture organization is a not-for-profit provider of habilitative services and family-like care to the developmentally disabled of rockland county, new york, committed to establishing for those in its care a quality of life, wealth of opportunity and choice, warmth of concern and potential for growth equal to that available to their non-developmentally disabled peers in this suburban community. Camp venture is, moreover, an advocate for the rights, liberties and opportunities of all developmentally disabled persons in society, a champion of their right to a valued and dignified place in the community, and a protagonist for their liberation from the cultural prejudice that limits full acceptance of their birthright as americans.
Programs: Individual residential alternative - community based group living arrangement which provides room, board and protective oversight to residents. Approximately 181 served.
intermediate care facility - residential program provides community like setting for intellectually and developmentally disabled through a small group setting with continuous supervision. Approximately 24 clients served.
day habilitation - supervised instructional program during day time hours to accomodate intellectually & developmentally disabled living in agency residential facilities and private homes. Approximately 386 clients served.
