Causes: Chambers of Commerce & Business Leagues
Mission: Venture portland means business. The organization invests in the smart, strategic growth of portlands 50 unique neighborhood business districts through grants, training and promotion. Together, neighborhood business districts contain 19,200 businesses and provide 267,000 jobs, playing a vital role in portlands economy. Venture portland builds the capacity of and connections between these districts. The organizations board leadership comes from the diverse business districts that collectively meet local, regional, national and international demand for goods and services.
Programs: Venture portland means business. We celebrated 31 years supporting portland's unique neighborhood business districts through grants, training and promotion. We provided 2,926 hours of training and technical assistance (a 20% increase over the prior year), facilitated 6 citywide marketing campaigns and distributed $96,500 in grants to fund 34 business district projects. Venture portland's dedicated board contributed 1,184 volunteer hours to help the organization build the capacity of and connections between business districts. Finally, we expanded our pilot project 33% bringing targeted resources to 8 east and north portland business districts.
