Mission: The venture capital foundation is a non-profit foundation dedicated to raising awareness and educating the general public and policymakers about the positive and lasting impact of entrepreneurship, fueled by venture capital, in the united states. The foundation seeks to further the understanding and connection between policymakers, entrepreneurs and the venture capital industry by developing resources for the discussion and analysis of public policies impacting high-growth innovative companies and the flow of private capital.
Programs: Vcf is dedicated to raising awareness and educating industry participants, professionals and practitioners, policymakers and the general public about the vc industry through research, communications, and events devoted to the following four initiatives:(i) the role of entrepreneurship and venture capital funding as a fundamental driver of innovation and economic growth in cities, states and regions across the united states (the vc economic impact initiative);(ii) the role early vc investors, practitioners, policymakers and other champions of innovation and entrepreneurship played in shaping the current us economy (the history of us vc initiative);(iii) promoting entrepreneurship and venture capital funding of entrepreneurs and investors, and of diverse backgrounds, as a transformative platform for the advancement of individuals and society (the vc social responsibility initiative);(iv) promoting the continuous sharing and development of best practices within the vc industry for establishing fund structures and funding mechanisms that further the interests of entrepreneurship, innovation and investors through structures, policies and practices which contribute towards alignment of interests among industry participants and stakeholders.
