Causes: Disaster Aid, Search & Rescue Squads
Mission: The Ventura County East Valley Search & Rescue Team is an unpaid, professional Search and Rescue program that is nationally accredited through the Mountain Rescue Association. Our team consists of 30 volunteers who contribute their time and resources to responding to wilderness and urban emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. As with any volunteer service, the men and women of our team take time away from their professional and personal lives to give back to the community in which they live. In 2002, our team logged over 4500 hours towards training, emergency response, equipment maintenance, and participation in public relation activities.VCSAR-3 has also trained and provided emergency support throughout the western United States. Areas of involvement have included: National forests and backcountry surrounding San Bernardino, Riverside, Los Angeles, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Siskiyou, Oregon; Inyo, Madera, and Tuolumne Counties; and Yosemite, Death Valley, and Kings Canyon National Parks
