This non-profit’s dedication, caring and love for German Shepherds (those who for some reason are “not adoptable”) have allowed so many people, including myself, to experience the joys of life with these beautiful, faithful dogs. VSR volunteers patiently assess and rehabilitate German Shepherds who have been neglected and/or abused; they take care of the medical and emotional needs of ones who are suffering so that they can begin to enjoy a new life without pain or fear; and after carefully vetting prospective adopters, they help bring joy to individuals or families when a beautiful German Shepherd leaves VSR’s care and moves on to a new and better life with its new forever family

I am very pleased with ruckus who I adopted about three months ago. The experience was efficient and thoughtful to make sure he was going to a good home. I saw ruckus on the news on a Saturday morning and he was home with me the following Thursday, so even with the home inspection and interviews ect it was a fast, professional process.

We adopted our GSD Roxie (previously Presley). Roxie had been neglected, abused, and abandoned before being rescued by Vegas Shepherd Rescue. VSR spent so much time, energy and money to ensure a successful adoption. We completed an application, had a “meet and greet”, and a home visit to see if our wants in a GSD matched with Roxie’s needs for a family, and it was a perfect fit. We absolutely love Roxie and are so grateful to VSR, and we really appreciated everything they do for the Shepherds and for the community.

VSR is a caring association that puts the dog's needs before the human! We have adopted 2 girls from VSR and each process was smooth. They introduced us to several dogs, even seeing how they reacted to the GSD that we already had.

I highly recommend this organization to anyone looking to add a German Shepherd Dog to their family!

We adopted Indie from Vegas Shepard Rescue. The care the representatives took to vet us as appropriate adopters was appreciated. They were professional and the love and care they give for the animals waiting to be adopted was amazing to see.

Our meet n greet with Indie was well organized and set the tone for a very positive first interaction with her.

If you love German Shepards, we highly recommend.

My family lost our German Shepherd and Lab Shepherd within about 8 weeks of each other. We knew we wanted another GSD and reached out to the rescue. They did a phenomenal job figuring out what dog would be best for us. We were a tricky family to adopt to being that we have a newborn and a 5 year old. They ultimately found a 6yo boy named Blue who fit perfectly into our family. The adoption process was thorough to ensure we were a fit, but definitely ran smoothly.

My wife and I had the greatest Shepard ever, we lost her at the age of only 9 yrs old. Our life was devastated. For over a month all we did was cry. I told my wife I had to do something that I was just lost without our Sophie, she was every part of every min. of every day.
Around June 16th I started looking for another Shepard, after talking to my wife Kim we decided we were going to adopt that way we could save a rescue and we could be rescued. After checking out Vegas Shepard Rescue and going thru the App possess a few days went by and I was contacted by Tammy to have a home visit before being approved to adopt. It was the best ever. A few hrs after the home visit I received an email saying we had been approved for an adoption. My wife and I were so excided and made an appointment for the next day. On Saturday June 19th we meet Desirea, at the adoption house, after talking to her for awhile she said, I thing we have a girl that would be a great fit to your home.
Desirea brought out the sweetest 4 yr old girl Named Leia, we went outside and got to know her. After spending some time, My wife and I both looked at each other and said at the same time this is our baby.
We took Miss Leia home that day, we live about an hour from Las Vegas, Miss Leia set in the back seat with our grandson, she never moved sat there like she knew she was going home.
We have had Miss Leia for about 8 days now and she knows she has her forever home.
She knows every part of the house and yard, and my side of the bed is hers
We can not thank the staff and Desirea at Vegas Shepard Rescue enough.
Miss Leia thinks she got Rescued, But it is truly my wife and I that was Rescued.

Vegas Shepherd Rescue is a top notch rescue. I volunteered for them for 6 years before circumstances prevented me from continuing. They rescue animals that need medical and behavioral assistance before being adopted, and put the time, resources, and effort in to get them ready for their new homes. Not only do they get animals out of the shelter, but they assist owners in re-homing their dogs. They work hard to get the right match with adopters, and to ensure that the animals are in a safe and secure environment. I highly recommend this organization for anyone who wants to adopt a German Shepherd.

My husband and I adopted a family member from this rescue in November. LV Shepherd Rescue guided us through the adoption process seamlessly. They asked us tons of questions and did a home interview via FaceTime in order to maintain social distancing guidelines which we really appreciated. Desirea introduced us and our other rescue to our German Shepherd pup initially through a fence so the girls could sniff each other and get familiar before letting them into the same yard. Since coming home, they’ve checked in as our pup is getting acclimated. I’d recommend this rescue time and time again.

I had a German Shepherd growing up. Then, my wife and I adopted a German Shepherd right after we got married. He gave us 13 wonderful years, but as we all know, dogs leave us way too early. When it came time to get the next German Shepherd we naturally went to Vegas Shepherd Rescue because we are big believers in adoption vs breeders. They were very patient with us and showed us several dogs they had available. We settled on Clark, a 1-2-year-old male who is settling in nicely with our family. Thanks so much German Shepherd Rescue!

Our family has adopted two times from Vegas Shepherd Rescue (VSR) and each time has been an amazing experience. Our most recent adoption has been nothing short of thorough, smooth and most importantly the ability to have a new (and wonderful) member of our family.
We visited our potential pup two times at the VSR facility, she came to our home once (as the team from VSR wanted to see how she would react during this visit), also made sure to schedule an additional visit with our daughter and grandson to see how she would feel around a little one as well. The time spent was wonderful and truly made us feel that we were making the right decision for our family.
The details that they made to share with us on the acclimation of her into our family and what to expect within this time frame has truly set us up for success for a long and loving relationship with our pup. I would fully recommend VSR for any family looking for a Shepherd, the experience has been bar none.

My experience with VSR was stellar and painless from start to finish. The approval process was simple and straightforward. Once approved and I identified a dog I was interested in adopting, they were very accommodating when scheduling my visit to the rescue home. Baron's foster brought him to my house, spent time with me before leaving Baron with me. They set me up with a complimentary training session which was very useful! Can't say enough good things about Vegas Shepherd Rescue. From the initial contact with VSR through the adoption process and beyond, they are fantastic. They care about each of the orphans and ensure their physical and emotional needs are met. They work with and begin training each dog to give them the opportunity to be the best they can be. The team of volunteers who go in each day to care for the dogs don't just feed them and let them out to relieve themselves. They play with them, brush them, and give them the attention they need. VSR is careful to be sure each dog is placed in a good home and that the dog is a good match for the new family. It doesn't end there. After adoption they are available to answer questions and help the new family navigate the process of integrating the new pup into their family.

When our shepherd, Molly, passed away, our malamute, Chewy, was really lonely. I had been checking on shepherds at VSR for sometime when I saw Hobi, now Harper, and I fell head-over-heal for this sweet little girl. She and Chewy became the best of friends. When Chewy died, Harper was heartbroken and so back to VSR we went and evidentially came home with Seiko. We love both of these two amazing dogs. And we love VSR for trusting us with their beloved rescues.

And just one final note, rescues are not throwaways. Both of our dogs are dog blood donors, and we couldn't be prouder of that fact.

VSR has given us a precious gift which can't be measured.

We have had Shepard's in the past and our last dog was a rescue so when we felt we needed an addition to our family we decided to go with the best of both worlds and adopt a Shepard rescue. Vegas Shepard Rescue exceeded our expectations on the care and love they give these animals. This dog seemed to know that we were there to adopt and love him forever and I believe Vegas Shepard Rescue helped him in that transition. We all know how hard it is on a rescue dog. This was our first experience with adopting and with Vegas Shepherd Rescue. Everyone made this experience very easy and comfortable. We chose a skiddish puppy, because we have had great success with scared dogs in the past. Axel(his new name) has broken out of his shell and has become one of the most affectionate dogs I have ever owned. He is 1 year old now and has soo much energy and loves to play and cuddle. Thank you to everyone who works at the rescue. You all are doing a great service to these beautiful animals.

Initially we had a home visit to make sure that our home and family would be a good fit to adopt a German Shepherd. We adopted a 4 1/2 years old German Shepherd. We met our dog one week ago today at a park with the entire family, including our little dog, Chopper. The rescue volunteers helped us transition by easing into the process with the entire family. After it seemed to be working out with all of our family members they transported our potential new family member to our house. Explicit directions were given to us to help with a smooth transition and to ensure that our new family member felt safe. They stayed until it felt like everything was calm for our new German Shepherd! Every day our German Shepherd is feeling more and more safe and secure. She was surrendered by her family of 4 1/2 years and she is needing a lot of attention to feel like she belongs. I know she is realizing that she has a new forever home.

This is the first time we have dealt with a rescue. I will say, all the people that volunteer their time are amazing. They are passionate about helping these loving dogs and I find it so heartwarming. They were helpful through the whole process and gave us recommendations and tips. When we met with the pup we knew he was meant for us. He was picked up by animal control and placed on the kill list bc he was shy/skiddish. It's crazy to think bc all he needed was reassurance and to know he is safe. He is such a good boy and I'm glad we adopted our fur-baby with VSR. They truly rescue those in need and help complete the lives of others.

After having adopted our Shepherd, Kona, just over a year ago, we have been involved with and follow, Vegas Shepherd Rescue. The commitment of the staff and volunteers is unsurpassed! Their team has inspired us to help and donate when possible!

It is because of VSR that hundreds of German Shepherds have been adopted. And in many cases these beautiful animals may have been euthanized! However, because of VSR they now live wonderful lives with families that will provide them a lifetime of comfort and companionship!

German Shepherds are a very particular breed. And, they are not the right pet for many families! The families do not realize the effort necessary to properly train and treat a German Shepherd. And when these dogs grow from cute puppies to adult animals, the amount of time, attention and exercise and training can be too much for families without German Shepherd experience. And subsequently, they are discarded or surrendered to shelters or the Humane Society.

The leadership team of VSR understands these needs. And with their years of experience with Germans they understand the needs of these dogs! They do not just randomly assign a dog for adoption, but they do their due diligence in selecting the right fit for the dog and family! The process begins with a pre-adoption application, followed up by a home visit. And they have a network of volunteers that check veterinarian records of current pets in the households of potential adopters! This is to ensure that the dog will be in a safe, pet friendly, environment for years to come!

While I can continue to elaborate on the reasons that VSR deserves "Great Nonprofit" status, their track record and reputation can speak for itself! By awarding the Great Nonprofit" status to Vegas Shepherd Rescue could save more live's of these beautiful animals by increasing the public awareness of the organization and perhaps look to adopt a German Shepherd!

Please feel free to contact us at anytime if you need any more information!

Thank you for your consideration!

Great organization - but not an easy experience. They are trying very hard to place their dogs in a good "forever" home. Not everyone will qualify. I have had my GSD just a week, but of course she has wiggled and "pawed" her way into my heart. She came to me as Gabi, but now she is "PAWS" for pretty paws. She has white feet, and she will give you her paws, no matter what. In my opinion this breed is the best and they should have the best homes. Kudos to Vegas Shepherd Resuce.

I have now had my rescued German shepherd for 3 months and I could not be happier with him. I started thinking about adopting a shepherd when my pit mix started showing signs of old age and slowing down. After speaking with my vet tech, she turned me onto Vegas Shepherd Rescue and I am so glad she did. After turning in my application and got everything squared away, I met Kohl after he had been back with the rescue for a week. I fell in love him as soon as I saw him but I knew it was up to my pit mix, Butch, to make the decision. The decision was made when Butch went into the play crouch after meeting Kohl. Three months later, Butch and Kohl are an amazing pair and act like they have been brothers for years.
I could not be more happier with Kohl. The staff at VSR were nothing but helpful and wonderful to work with. Kohl still has some work to do to finish healing but he has been nothing but wonderful. Thank you for bringing this fur baby into my life VSR, you guys do amazing work!!

Where to begin, about two years ago, I had been weighing the decision to adopt and bring another dog into my family's life. I came across Vegas Shepherd Rescue, being a Shepherd owner before, and having Shepherd knowledge, there was no question about it. Well, when I reached out, the experience I had with this organization moved me in such a positive way, that I decided I needed, and wanted, to do more.
Fast forward 2 years later, I've been with this rescue, volunteering and making memories that will last a lifetime. I have made family here, and no words could ever BEGIN to describe the amount of love, hard work, and dedication this organization gives to these brilliant animals.
They go above and beyond what is ever expected of them, just to make sure these animals are given the utmost care, love, and potential to find their forever families.
To have the opportunity to be a part of Vegas Shepherd Rescue, and witness these animals go from the worst possible scenarios in their innocent lives, to opening up, giving their love, trust and respect to us, is the most humbling.
Our mission statement is,
"Saving one dog will not change the world, but surely for that one dog, the world is changed forever."
From my experience, it's the other way around; These dogs come into our lives, and change OUR world.

I first met Odin when he came through my work, he was getting surgery for a broken femur. His name at the time was Casper. I shot my husband a text message with Odin and I cuddling in his cage, and told him how much I wanted him. Later he asked me how badly did I want that white German Shepherd puppy? I was ecstatic! I immediately contacted the shelter once I learned he was through the Vegas Shepherd Rescue. They responded very quickly and we were able to set up our first meeting shortly after. You can really tell they care about these kids with how in-depth the process is, which I highly appreciate. Many people don't understand what they are getting themselves into when they take on this breed, they help find true good homes for them. I met up with Odin's foster mom after the house walk through went well and I was able to take Odin home shortly after. They kept up on communication, took care of his vaccines and got him microchipped. As well as his neuter when he gets a bit older. I could not give any higher praise to these amazing people I wish there was an option to give more than 5 stars because everyone here is a rockstar!

Thank you so much for giving me such an amazing baby to add to my family! I will always appreciate it! He has a bit to go to finish healing but soon him and my other German Shepherd mix will be running together.

VSR is not just an organization looking to find homes for dogs. But they are a very dedicated group that does their due diligence to match the right pet with the right home.

Shari, Elizabeth, Tammy, Lindsey and all of the volunteers have their designated role in the adoption process. It is apparent that each one of these folks are passionate about their love of German Shepherds and their well being!

We initiated our communication with VSR through their website where there is a detailed biography of each available pet. Including numerous photos, links the the VSR facebook page, testimonials, and stories.

Because we saw the love and attention their available doge were receiving, we filled out the mandatory adoption application! The questions were thorough and informative. Once completed, they sent Elizabeth (who is awesome) to our home for a home inspection. They wanted to confirm that the yard met their safety standards! Once approved, the rest is history!

I could continue to go on and on about VSR . However, I hope the following photos will represent our satisfaction with our decisions to utilize their services! And our love of our new family member! Meet Kona!

If you are looking for a forever friend, please reach out to the VSR team!

Been in contact with the rescue since early November, got application submitted and the house visit performed, everything good to go, just needed to find the perfect new family member. The criteria we were looking for was 6 months to around a year old. During our wait the rescue cam across a litter of puppies and offered one to us. We were very interested, just had to wait till they were 8 weeks old before we could choose they one being welcomed into our family. Time finally came, I jumped through hoops to make it happen on their time schedule, met with them and picked the one that would be coming to our home and then they got a bit crazy.
The day after we picked I decided to email them and find out the timeline on when they are bringing the puppy by, that's when we found out they "observed" something that didn't make them happy and they suddenly believe a GSD was not a good fit for us. Our family was very crushed at this time, and would like to know what was observed. No comments, they would not call me, and Tammy the cofounder said I should find a backyard breeder who doesn't care about the health of their dogs. What kind of Rescue organization is this? If there are legitimate concerns, and they cared about the breed and people, they would voice their concerns.
A little bit about me. Grew up with this breed of dog, have had 4 of them in my life. I'm not a first time dog owner. I actually believed in Rescues prior to this, and now I can only hope people don't buy into their stupidity.
Attached is an email between me and the rescue, one of their vague replies of not saying much and a pic of my daughter the puppy we thought was becoming our new family member.
We were one of the first to pic, I have a feeling that someone later on wanted the pup we picked and offered a sizable donation at my families expense. I don't suggest anyone do business with them till Tammy and Genie and no longer involved with this rescue organization

Amazing organization. We adopted one of our babies (Lucy) from them and now they've become our favorite charity in Vegas. They've save over 400 shepherds and have the best staff in NV. We'll be with them forever..

I could not be happier with Leo now named Rommell. The process was great because instead of just giving a good dog away to anyone there was a house visit a questionaire and a very accurate description of what the dogs are like. And I could not be more happy with Leo now "Rommel" he is adgusting to my house and my moms house and is very happy heading out to the park. I hope more people adopt from German Shepherd rescue even older dogs that deserve homes. Because my last Shepherd who I got from German Shepherd rescue went to the rainbow bridge in Feb I just wanted a dog a little younger than I wanted because he will hopefully be around. And Rommel is all I could have asked for

I had just lost my Lab to old age and was NEVER going to get a dog again. I made it 3 weeks, lol. I decided to adopt from a rescue and after researching several in Las Vegas decided on Vegas Shepherd Rescue. I filled out my application and made an appointment for my home inspection. Once approved I went to meet their dogs. I met and fell in love with beautiful boy who luckily for me had been returned. It was important to them to make sure he had the right fit so that this didn't happen again. They are very adept to the mental and physical anguish that some of these dogs have been through and are very careful with who they place them with. They were there for any questions and concerns I had and always available for help and guidance when needed. Dexter has come so far and is a truly wonderful dog. A lot of love, training and understanding and these rescues make for wonderful companions. I can't say enough how thankful I am that they are doing what they do. I look forward to adding another one to our family soon and will definitely be going back to Vegas Shepherd Rescue when we do.

This is a great rescue, everyone is super friendly and they are doing a great service to the dogs they rescue. I adopted my new best friend from them and couldn't be happier.

I first found out about VSR while shopping at PetSmart. I met a volunteer with a beautiful rescue dog. I got a card from her and went online to fill out the adoption application. Once approved, we took our current small dog (Hunter) to the rescue for a meet and greet. Well, after a couple of visits, we discoverd that beautiful dog was not a good fit for our family. She was too playful for Hunter and he was not up to it.
The amazing volunteers used their exptertise and introduced us to a couple of other dogs. The second dog they suggested we meet was Gatsby. He went home with us that day and he is quickly making our home and family his own.
Thank you all for the amazing work you do with these beautiful animals.

My German Sheperd "Niko" of 7 years died in my arms last month at home.
After losing my best friend, I had him since he was 6 weeks. I decided to rescue a German Sheperd at Vegas GS rescue, I met with Taz, a Sable colored young Sheperd. Taz was a stray, animal control was going to put him down. For being afraid... Seriously... What a bunch of a&$ holes at animal control. So I decided Taz and I needed each other as I was really hurting over Niko. Since Taz has been home with me (5 days) he is house broken, can sit and shake hands. He protects the back yard and house already. He just needed a place to call home. I feel blessed to have such a wonderful doggie. I ask my self who rescued who... Taz saved me in so many ways. Thank you everyone at Vegas German Sheperd Rescue.

Everything with the adoption of Wiley went wonderful. On the way home he laid in the backseat enjoying the ride. Once home it's like Wiley has lived there for awhile because he adjusted very well. He's a great little boy.

One and half weeks ago I adopted a wonderful deaf Shepherd. I always wanted a German Shepherd and this was my opportunity to have one and help a special needs one get a good home. The people at the Rescue are wonderful. They check everyone out to make sure they are a good fit for the dogs. I've seen people out at pet smart that work for the rescue and they are such lovely people.

Extraordinary people performing the extraordinary.
At VSR the dogs truly come first, being no one is paid everything is truly for the dogs.
I'm convinced my dog( as of now) would of been put down at a city shelter if she ended up there, however VSR took time allowing her to de-stress and again when it was time for us to build the trust needed, knowing she has the potential to become an ambassador to the breed with just a little guidance. VSR is definitely in the same league as other world class organizations, if not starting a new league.
Hopefully when its time to add another member to the pack, every dog would already have a home and VSR can close shop, however they will be the first on the list.
Thank You to all of VSR and to everyone that adopts, remarkable!

VSR has done a tremendous job saving German Shepherd Dogs that would otherwise been euthanized for no reason. The adoption process was easy and straightforward. Thanks VSR!!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Vegas Shepherd Rescue! They are a compassionate group of volunteers who have the utmost respect, love, and best interest of the orphans. When we decided to adopt another German Shepherd (after the passing of our 3 year old shepherd due to illness), we needed to make sure the new dog was great with kids. We filled out our adoption application, had our home visit and spoke to several of the volunteers about the dogs at their events. We also checked VSR's Facebook and website regularly. The adoption coordinator, Shari, was extremely patient with us and was more than happy to introduce several dogs to us that she thought might be a really good fit. When she introduced us to Ducky, Ducky came right over and gave our daughter gentle kisses. We knew right then she was the one. Ducky is a wonderful addition to our family. She is loved very much and is "Queen of the castle" in our home. She and our 6 year old daughter have a bond that is incredible!! Our adoption experience far exceeded our expectations!! The volunteers are great!!! Thank you VSR for everything you do!!! We have met wonderful people through the rescue and highly recommend Vegas Shepherd Rescue to our friends and family!!! Keep up the awesome work!!!

VSR is a great organization with dedicated personnel that truly care about their dogs. We just adopted our 2nd rescue shepherd and the transition couldn't have been smoother. Sasha, formerly Echo has made herself at home and will be a valued member of the family

We can't say enough good things about VSR, the wonderful people rescuing these dogs and our experience adopting. We submitted our application, had a home visit the next day and a dog that afternoon. We had picked out a few dogs to meet and ended up with one we had actually crossed off our list. The adoption coordinator brought Roscoe out because she felt we would be a good match and boy was she right on the money! That was 3 years ago....THANK YOU for saving these dogs and giving us Roscoe.

I had just lost my 10yr old GSD to degenerative myelopathy (DM) and even though I knew I would lose her (no cure) I was grief stricken, but not nearly as much as her 9yr old sister Jordan. I discovered Vegas Shepherd Rescue and for the first time considered adopting an adult GSD rescue for her. I could not have been more impressed with this organization! They truly care for each and every dog they rescue and have an amazing way of finding just the right deserving forever home for them. I applied for and adopted Hailey (formerly Fila) and it was the best thing I ever did for Jordan and myself! Hailey has helped us more than she will ever know! Vegas Shepherd Rescue Rocks!

We had a great experience with Vegas Shepherd Rescue. After many months of stalking their Facebook page we submitted an application and started the process. Shari and the other volunteers have very good instincts about people and dogs and they suggested the right match for us even though she did not exactly fit what we thought we wanted in a dog. We're very happy to have our girl home

Vegas Shepherd Rescue is such an amazing group. Working at the animal hospital, I see other rescue groups that don't do what VSR does. They truly care for these dogs as if they were their own. I rescued a dog from them almost 2 years ago, and he is absolutely perfect. Luke was an owner surrender and it took a long time for him to trust any one. The volunteers went out of their way to visit with him and bring him treats multiple times a day to gain his trust. They go above and beyond, and what more can you ask for when adding an animal into the family.

After we lost one of our rescue pups of 7 years, we reached out to Vegas Shepherd Rescue to find a dog to give a loving home. The rescue was a blessing to deal with - everyone so friendly and so helpful in helping us find a dog to give a forever home. When Tahoe (formerly Tonka) came out for his first meet and greet, we established a bond immediately and the rest is history. Tahoe is now living with us, in a loving home. VSR was fantastic throughout the whole adoption process. Tahoe joins our older German Shepherd and 2 human brothers who he absolutely adores. The amount of love we have for this dog is immeasurable. Thank you VSR for all you do, to keep the doggies safe and find them loving, forever homes!

Oh where do I begin?! It will be 3 years in March that my husband & I had to say goodbye to Abby, our 14 year old Chesapeake Bay Retreiver. 4 years prior to her passing, we rescued a female sable German Shepherd, Cheyenne. I have never had GSDs before but have always loved the breed! My husband grew up with them. Once we lost Abby, our house was not the same. Cheyenne mourned for her buddy & it was heart wrenching to watch. So we reached out to VSR. With the help of Miracle Dog Network we found Beckett, now Ammo. Not only did we rescue one of the sweetest dudes out there, we have adopted new friends & a family in the group of volunteers at VSR. I have never met people so completely devoted to what they do. Watching them care, love & train these wonderful pups is truly one of the most beautiful gifts in the world. I'm proud to say my husband & I are now a part of this organization & have referred many a friend to adopt, foster or volunteer with VSR!!

We adopted our first shepherd, "Sampson" through Vegas Shepherd Rescue. The volunteer staff for the rescue are truly amazing and caring people who have only the shepherd's best interests at heart. We were so pleased with Sampson that we adopted Mya about six months later. Sadly, we lost our sweet Mya to illness. I was contacted by Shari Dale at the rescue after Mya's death and asked if we would be interested in meeting another shepherd who needed a good home. Shari and Jen told me they thought Amy's personality would be a perfect fit. Caught in the grieving process, I was reluctant. But, as soon as I met Amy I knew that through the help of Shari and Jen at the Vegas Shepherd Rescue, Mya sent Amy to us to help us heal. My thanks and appreciation go to this amazing group of people who work so hard to give our furry friends a forever home. Millie Lee

I adopted a 5-year-old male shepherd from them last year. VSR took him in when a local veterinarian contacted them asking for help. An owner surrendered his dog to her after she refused to euthanize the dog for behavior issues. VSR recognized that the dog was just fearful and poorly socialized. They worked with him for several months, and when he was ready for adoption, my husband met him and he too saw his potential, so we adopted him. This handsome boy now has a wonderful life, is loved dearly, and excels at K9 Nose Work. My fellow volunteers are amazing and truly dedicated to the dogs they rescue. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this rescue to someone looking for a German shepherd!

Although we weren't quite ready to adopt, we had been following Vegas Shepherd Rescue on Facebook and attending their events getting to know more about the organization. Liking what we saw and learned, we applied to become foster dog parents which inevitably lead to what we are now known as... foster failures. We officially adopted our Mr. Hanky nearly two years ago and have since adopted our baby, Shiloh. Vegas Shepherd Rescue volunteers are committed, loving and generous people who treat each and every orphan as they would their own. Both my VSR "kids" are happy, healthy and just plain awesome and for that, we give thanks and 2 thumbs up to Vegas Shepherd Rescue!

VSR is incredible! They care deeply for each & every furry friend that is lucky enough to be saved by them. My baby was abused & doomed to die at the shelter. VSR stepped in and gave her the care she desperately needed. They paid hundreds of dollars in vet costs and made sure she was healthy enough for adoption. I am still in contact with them. They love updates & always say that you can never send to many pictures! It was a wonderful experience & our family will be forever grateful for love & care that they gave us & our baby Adelaide!!
