Mom has been at the Vassar-Warner Home (VWH)for more than four years now and she is right at "home". My family doesn't have to worry about Mom being alone, having to cook, clean, pay bills and all the other chores. There is always something going on at VWH to keep her active and engaged. She enjoys meal time with friends and has home cooked meals seven days a week. Her room is spacious and clean. We don't even have to do her laundry - it's done for her! My sister and I are grateful to the caring, attentive staff at VWH. I was invited to become a Board Member a couple of years ago and feel even more positive about this gem in the City of Poughkeepsie. Donna Medici
My mother moved into Vassar-Warner Home when it bacame obvious she couldn't live alone in her second floor apartment any longer. It was a relief knowing that she would be receiving her medications on time, she would be eating well and perhaps most importantly she would have socialization while participating in activities with the other residents.
The staff was considerate and all embraced their duties with positive attitudes.
For my family at that time there was no better choice.
This program is a one-of-a-kind that is a must see! The Staff are always helpful, courteous and genuinely care about the people living there. It is definitely more of a Community and does not have a nursing home atmosphere. They provide so many opportunities for their residents to enjoy life and many who only come for short term respite, end up wanting to move in permanently. Definitely a program worth visiting if you are looking for Senior Care!!
Holding a long-standing relationship with this magnificent facility, there are not enough words to describe the feelings of family and Home that lies beyond their columns. Rich in history, Vassar-Warner Home is warm and inviting to all whom live there, or visit, and has been providing quality care and services to Seniors since 1871. Historic and heroic is the perfect combination that makes this non-profit for Senior Living really shine!
From the first moment I walked into Vassar-Warner home as a volunteer, I knew this was a very special place, and over the years since that first day that feeling has been confirmed. There is a warmth that runs from all of the caring staff members, through the volunteers, and the contented residents, and is reflected in the charm of this beautiful building. This is a place that feels like home. You only have to visit it to understand what I mean.
My mom has been a resident of Vassar-Warner Home for over three years. Within that time period her needs have escalated. Their loving, professional staff has kept pace with her needs as well as providing a warm home environment for her. The meals are nutritious and tasty. Activities are on-going. The lovely building is well-maintained and always being improved upon. In short, it's a nice place!
Excellent home. I am grateful every day for the staff and the home. They brought my mother back to life- she’s happy again! Cannot recommend it highly enough. Small place so each resident gets lots of attention if they want it. It’s very customized. We love it!
Thank you so much for the wonderful review and allowing us to be of service for your mom!
My mother in law lived at Vasser Warner the staff was amazing. Kathy Porter and everyone . Love the 4 pm happy hour on Sat. The holiday party, warm and wonderful place. That's where I want to go when I get old,
Thank you so much for the wonderful review!
I had the great pleasure of serving on the board of this nonprofit for three years! The home is truly that...a place where residents can feel comfortable, cared for, and loved. The level of attention and services offered by staff, all as part of the standard room rate, is unsurpassed! Want a place that offers you the peace of mind of knowing your loved one is safe and cared for? This is it!
Thank you for your kind words and years of support!
The staff is great and the building is kept well. I loved the atmosphere and felt like I was home. Mom loves it there.
Thank you so much for your positive review and adding to our success!
This home needs help. My friend lives there and it is really declining. It is an old building but not well kept. Doesnt seem to have enough money to hire good cleaners and caretakers in all areas.
Although we appreciate your opinion and candor, it is always disheartening to receive a negative review when we strive so hard to provide the highest quality of care for our residents. If you'd like to be part of our success, we'd be happy to listen to your concerns.
A rare gem where residents are absolutely the No. 1 priority. The staff is experienced, committed and caring. In and around Poughkeepsie, people who know senior facilities know that Vassar-Warner Home is the best.
Thank you for the positive review and supporting our facility!
