Programs: Walter knox memorial hospital is a 13-bed critical access hospital that offers acute care, emergency care, general surgery, laboratory, diagnostic imaging, obstetrics, oncology, physical, occupational, and speech therapy, visiting specialty provider clinics, and a variety of outpatient services. Emergency services are offered regardless of the patient's ability to pay. The facility provided 832 days of patient services which includes 45 nursery days. The facility also provided 12,472 rural health clinic visits as well as 3,766 emergency room visits. The hospital provides care to persons covered by governmental programs at below cost and to individuals who are unable to pay. The unreimbursed value of providing care to these patients was 214,272 for charity care, 5,599,035 for medicare, 2,313,969 for medicaid and 1,935,482 for other third-party payors for the year ended september 30, 2017.
