I became aware of Valley View when I started attending the full moon hikes in the winter of 2022. It’s wonderful that the grounds are available to anyone free of charge, and the guides make the hikes fun, and they are so knowledgeable about the nature there and the history of the area. It was through the full moon hikes that I learned about the community gardens and how the produce grown there is donated to local food banks. I now volunteer in the gardens at Valley View, helping with the harvest and taking the produce to the Loveland Life Food Pantry.
I’ve also attended the Great Outdoor Weekend collaboration, where events take place all over the city also free of charge. Valley View hosted a morning hike and breakfast in the woods by the firepit. It was well attended, and people had lots of good things to say about the event.
Valley View hosts many other events throughout the year including the October stargazing evening where the Cincinnati Observatory brings out telescopes and combines this with the full moon hike.
Valley view is a much-needed refuge from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It is not only a place to appreciate nature, but also a place to learn, an opportunity to give back to others, and also an opportunity for all children to take advantage of the resources Valley View provides.

I have been assisting in programs with Valley View for over 5 years now. In that role, I get to see faces new and old come to the property and a sense of relaxation and wonder fill their eyes as they explore. Valley View is truly unlike any other place with a freedom to explore, to learn, and to share. Providing free community events like our Night Hikes, Breakfast in the Woods, foraging, meditation, and so much more is only one reason Valley View remains a critical and engaged partner in our community.
Valley View Foundation is no longer the best kept secret in Milford or Clermont County. It has become a beautiful natural sanctuary to so many people especially during the pandemic. Lush walking trails that take you back in time when you walk past the refurbished historic barns and the amazing Gatch homestead.
We are lucky that a few residents stepped up to start a grass roots effort to save this land.
Valley View offers outdoor classroom to young and old. Their garden assist with fresh produce for non for profits like Feed Our Flock and La Soupe.
We are blessed to have Valley View in our back yard.
Valley View is a little bit of paradise in Milford, Ohio. Not only is it a great place to take a walk on your own, Valley View offers night hikes with guided tours. Recently, they hosted a hike with telescopes for viewing Jupiter, Saturn, and the moon. What a fun and educational adventure! And their annual Toast to the View fundraiser is a well planned and executed event.
