VEA is setting a strong pace for 2018!
As parent of a Valley Industries participant I was pleased to read of the positive steps and new initiatives under way, especially the creation of internship programs with Springfield and Holyoke Community Colleges and vocational training curriculum. I've met the new Vocational Program Coordinator. I'm impressed with his grasp of issues and energy that he's brought to your already capable staff in Springfield.
This past week our son was thrilled to start his first paying job, with V's coaching and
P's supervision. It was the result of collaboration and persistence by staff from the VEA vocational/day program and his residential services provider. We acted on a vision for C that caught fire with him and gave him confidence to do more. I can't think of a better example of your agency's mission in action.

Mission: Our specialized professionals strive to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities in Western MA since 1982.
Target demographics: the developmentally disabled
Direct beneficiaries per year: 85 participants
Geographic areas served: Western Massachusetts
Programs: vocational training, supported employment ventures and psychological services as well as community-based day services. Programs include outings in the community, volunteering projects, arts and crafts, thematic activities and more!
