I actually spent three days on the Lex. I signed up for two group tours, took the self-guided tour, and also went exploring on my own. On one of the tours I climbed stairs from the lowest deck to the tower. Along the way our guide introduced us to the working of the ship. I can now imagine what it must have been like to live on this "island'. All the volunteers were friendly and knowledgeable. There was also a cafe on board which provided decent food at reasonable prices. If you have any interest in the Navy, ships at sea, or Naval aircraft, this is a must see. .
I first visited the Lex in November of 2015. Every single volunteer I came in contact with, in person or via phone or email has been absolutely outstanding. This organization has a dedicated and customer-friendly attitude. Even though I live 4 hours away, I joined the Museum Association and am proud to be part of an extraordinary organization.
