Org (usbd) advisory & board members, with the help of california senator mike morrell, turned our focus to the greater los angeles area to firmly establish a beachhead from which to roll-out usblooddonors. Org across the u. S. Usbd advisory board member andrew mcguire, through his nonprofit work in the health sector, successfully engaged los angeles board of supervisors sheila kuehl, who was joined by fellow los angeles supervisor, kathryn barger, in leading the board to unanimously endorse usbd to the 100,000+ l. A. County employees. Thereafter, l. A. Unified school district engaged its 90,000+ employees, followed by l. A. City to its nearly 50,000 employees. These three entities represent the top three employers in los angeles county encouraging their nearly combined quarter of a million employees to help save the life of a neighbor in need by donating blood during usbd emergency-alerts, or, by getting the word out through social media during emergency situations whether caused by natural disaster, episodic spikes in trauma-related events, other medical treatment urgencies, or terror-related events to those who are able to donate.
