Mission: We have been strengthening families since 1985 by providing multifaceted services that promote literacy and empower families to actively participate in their communities. Our services honor and build on participants cultures and wisdom and are grounded on best practices. Over 700 hours of community services are performed each year.
Programs: Adult education program parents increased their english literacy skills within a context that promotes functional life skills through our english as a second language classes. They also obtained general education certificates after participating in the ged program. Parents were equipped to support the education of their children and to provide greater resources for their families and communities. The adult education program engaged parents. English as a second language classes eslparticipants who completed the program demonstrated statistically significant gains in english reading, writing, speaking skills, and in their ability to understand english as well as in their confidence in using english to navigate their lives. Over 1,000 participants and families served in the current fiscal year. 9 students received scholarships.
