United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona

United Way helps our community in so many ways. From connecting volunteers to worthwhile opportunities, impacting education, financial wellness, and health across Southern Arizona, and creating community partnerships with numerous other organizations. They are dedicated to making Tucson a better place for everyone!

Each year, United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona helps thousands of people in the community with ways to improve their lives and provide them with a helping hand.

I have participated in various volunteer projects with my United Way of Tucson. I have helped elementary students pick out books for them to start home libraries, encouraging them to read over the summer. The looks on these kids' faces while they are picking out books that interest them, are just priceless.

Days of Caring is one of my favorite annual events, I am able to select from multiple projects to help around my community. I have helped to clear buffel grass from the alamo wash and other spots around town. I have helped paint playgrounds and sidewalks at a local elementary, the list goes on.

United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona is a vital part of our community and truly changes lives everyday. I appreciate all the work they do and am happy to support them whenever I can. Thank you!

I am the principal of a local elementary school in Tucson, AZ. United Way has helped my school in so many different ways including bringing us their My Summer Library and preschool promise programs. We also collaborated with United Way on projects that have improved the school grounds and helped us get a STEM lab running for the students. I am proud to be partners with them as they truly have the Tucson Community’s best interests at heart. They are successful in physically filling needs and not just talking about them.

When the pandemic hit, nobody knew what to do and how to respond, except the United Way of Tucson. They jumped right in and were there for us as they have always been. Everything from the website being a source to use for essential needs, to being a resource for small business. The United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona has been a staple of the community, especially thru these hard times

I have volunteered with United Way's Days of Caring for the past couple of years. United Way makes giving back to my community easy and worthwhile! They help to connect community members to volunteer opportunities throughout Tucson that make a real difference.

United Way of Tucson has helped our community in profound ways for as far back as I can remember. Their reach continues to grow and their impact can be felt throughout our city.

I am a single mother of two and have been using the United Way of Tucson’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program for the past couple of years. The volunteer I worked with spent hours doing research on current tax laws and found that due to my childcare experiences during the pandemic, instead of owing money, my family qualified for a large refund instead. I’m so appreciative of United Way's efforts, I know if I’d paid someone to do my taxes, I wouldn’t have had the same result. Thank you for providing this amazing program.

I love participating in my United Way campaign at work. They make it fun and easy to give back to my community.

United Way here in Tucson have continued to display excellent leadership as the backbone organization for the First Focus on Kids collaboration. Their work has supported the many partners to positively impact families and children throughout Pima County.

United Way of Tucson & Southern Arizona has been a tremendous partner in our work to improve the lives of young children here in southern Arizona as we work together to ensure that more and more children arrive in kindergarten ready to read and succeed. The UWTSA's work in early childhood has been integral to helping to create a coordinated system dedicated and driven to achieve real success for children, families, and early childhood educators.

Through the good work of United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona, in particular the Green Valley Satellite office, I was able to get certified to be a family childcare provider and started my own business. They connected me to tools and information that empowered me to be a success. Additionally, they are a friendly local resource and they even helped me to become a citizen and attended my swearing in ceremony to be a U.S. Citizen and helped me to get registered to vote. They also helped me get my taxes done at no cost at the local library this tax season. I am grateful for the work of United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona.
