The United Way of Chester County is an outstanding organization with excellent leadership that cares about the work they do and truly believes in their mission. I am continually impressed with their ability to continually make a difference in their local community. They focus their attention and funds to support programs the areas of Chester County that need their help the most and make a lasting impact on the lives of the people that those programs touch.
United Way of Chester County provides a vital role as a safety net in our community. I am continually impressed by the dedication of the organization's Board, staff and volunteers in meeting their mission to provide services to the most vulnerable in our community. As a representative of a local Foundation, I have the opportunity to witness representatives of United Way as they work on collaborative efforts to ensure that the needs of our community are met. Thank you !
The United Way of Chester County is led by Claudia Hellebush, assisted by Chris Saello! These two individuals lead the organization ensuring the community, all of the organizations in the community and the individuals in the community are at the center of every decision that is made! The UWCC is a great example of Working Together leads to Winning Together!
United Way of Chester County keenly focuses their year-round efforts on bettering our wonderful community! Their Staff & Volunteer Team works to support many important programs in our greater community which help families of all shapes and sizes. Their advocacy and fundraising efforts impact so very many including our West Chester Area Senior Center. Our Center's Meal Programs are able to serve over 25,000 meals annually with the support of our hometown United Way and other key partners. We are so fortunate to have this organization close to home and we are pleased to be a community partner with them!
Thank You United Way of Chester County!
Kathy Sullivan, Executive Director, West Chester Area Senior Center
I have been a proud donor to the Chester County United Way for a little over 25 years. The United Way of Chester County focuses their efforts in three key areas that are the building blocks of our community; education, financial independence & health. By prioritizing their efforts on these specific areas, the United Way helps better serve those in our community with overcoming challenges, aligning community services while helping the maximum number of people in our area. The United Way of Chester County is truly making a difference in nearly everything they do. Thank you United Way of Chester County.
The United Way of Chester County is one of the main connectors of non-profits and service providers in Chester County. Claudia Hellebush and her team are truly professional and dedicated to providing critical resources and support to those in need. The organization is well run and visibly active in the community. As a board member, I get to see first hand, the commitment of the organization's operations and their diligence to getting it right.
I have been involved with the United Way of Chester County for the past 10 years on multiple levels. As a new nonprofit CEO I participated in their year long Leadership Chester County (LLC) Board training, the following year we became the LLC nonprofit case study. Both were incredibly valuable experiences. Since that time several of the LCC graduates have become board members with our organization and have been very additive to serving our mission.
The United Way of Chester County is passionate about improving the lives of its community members. The United Way ensures every dollar raised or committed funds programs that improve Financial Stability, Education and Health. The United Way of Chester County differentiates its self from other agencies by its proven track record of rallying community partners to focus on a single need. Most impressive is that since its inception, the United Way team has not lost focus on what's most important...the community.
I have had the pleasure of volunteering with UWCC many times over the past 20 years, and there continues to be several qualities of this organization that I find so compelling. First, is the unwavering passion for their work by the staff. It has been a privilege to work alongside people who are so committed to serving the community's most pressing needs with so much vigor and focus. Second, the amount of knowledge UWCC possesses about the county, the many layers of stakeholders, and how to get things done is nothing short of remarkable. They attack complicated issues, and their understanding of how to execute needed responses within existing barriers and complications is energizing. And finally, I have found UWCC to be an organization that does not stand still. In an era where you hear about service complacency and a lack of movement, these folks set the bar in terms of constantly changing to meet the county's issues of today, and they challenge themselves to remain fluid, responsive, creative, and adaptive. A first rate organization.
I've admired the efficiency and effectiveness of the UWCC since being introduced to the organization in 2003. The staff consistently collaborates with partner agencies on setting relevant, achievable goals to assist individuals in need in our community, and then holding those agencies accountable for meeting their goals. I'm confident that every dollar I provide to support the UWCC is applied to effective programs and those dollars are making a positive difference in the lives of people in need in my community.
The United Way of Chester County exemplifies what a non profit organization should do, and how it should interact with the community. The name United Way has traditionally brought to mind a philanthropic organization focused on the immediate needs of the community they serve. As a multi-decade supporter of United Way in the four states that I have resided, all were effective, however the United Way of Chester County has continually exceeded my expectations.
The United Way of Chester County has a staff that is focused on the ever changing needs of the Chester County community. They create numerous initiatives to involve supporters so that they contribute not only financially, but also have the opportunity to personally assist neighbors that at this time in their life, happen to be in need. I look forward to working with this team as they enhance their bright future of service. They indeed have surpassed going from good to great, but more accurately are focused on going from excellent to elite.
The United Way of Chester County is an extraordinary nonprofit. I had been a UWay donor for years, but when became a student in their annual leadership program and then a volunteer I really got to see the local impact behind that big, national name. My dollars weren't going to a single, big organization – they were being routed to a network of charities and services right in MY community. That's the benefit of the UWay model: you make one donation, and they research what our community needs, send funding to dozens of local agencies that deliver services, and confirm that my dollars are used wisely. This approach sustains so many programs that families living below the poverty line depend on - things I take for granted (like food pantries, or volunteer doctors), and things I would never even think of (like a hotline to find open shelter beds on any given night). They are hyper-local, involved, informed, and dedicated. You can't ask for more in a nonprofit!
As the United Way coordinator for my company, I am consistently impressed with the dedication and enthusiasm of the United Way Team. They go above and beyond to make our gifts valuable to the community.
I have great respect and appreciation for the time and thoughtfulness by which the grant committees of this United Way allocates donations. I know of no better way to know that the money I donate is going to qualified organizations, serving important social needs, and will be verified as to the outcome at the end. We are very lucky to have these dedicated volunteers helping to make all this happen.
I have had the pleasure of being involved with the United Way of Chester County for a number of years now. I am a local photographer and have volunteered my services to capture many events presented by this fine organization. The team that has been assembled in Chester County is second to none. Everyone at the United Way of Chester County has a commitment to community, a passion for giving, and a driving desire to help those who need it most. I am also a recent graduate of the Leadership Chester County program presented by the United Way of Chester County. This program further opened my eyes to the needs of our community and provided me with tools to allow me to better serve my community on many levels.
Thank you to the United Way of Chester County for all you do and I look forward to helping for many years to come.
This organization is first class all the way. I had the opportunity to work as a volunteer on one of their Community Impact teams and saw first hand the professionalism of the staff and how the money raised is invested in programs with measurable outcomes.
