The Vero Beach Power Squadron is one of the most active squadrons in the U.S. (400+ squadrons).
It's members provide many types of community services principally related to safety on the water (both power boating and sailing). Many types of educational offerings are presented with minimum cost to the individual family. On the water exercises for inexperienced boaters have recently been offered. Members of the VBPS take many advanced classes (marine electronics, engine maintenance, cruise planning, onboard weather forcasting, piloting, celestial navigation, etc). Primary recipients of donations from members of the VBPS, include Boys & Girls Club (fishing outings), the Environmental Learning Center (food service donations at EcoFest) and thousands of hours of volunteer efforts with environmental issues and for the Youth Sailing Foundation of Indian River County. The VBPS has service the community of Vero Beach for more than 60 years.
