Causes: Breast Cancer
Mission: United in pink is committed to enhancing the quality of life for breast cancer survivors and their families by addressing their unique physical, psychological, relational, and educational needs.
Programs: United in pink offers customized programs and services to the breast cancer survivor as well as their family members. Our upreach program targets the emotional impact of receiving a breast cancer diagnosis and includes providing pink packs and wellness retreats. Our strongbox program includes more tangible items of care such as gas cards, meal deliveries, grocery cards, and notes of encouragement. Our family2family program brings families together so that they can build relationships and encourage one another. One of our specific programs is our kids in pink camp which addresses the impact on children ages 4 to 18 by providing them with a weeklong day camp experience filled with fun and education while building strength, courage and hope. Our 4everpink program addressed the unique needs of our stage 4 breast cancer survivors and includes monthly lunch gatherings, an annual wellness retreat, family portrait sessions, end of life planning and other customized care as needed. A cancer diagnosis impacts the entire family. By providing customized programs and services, we are able to meet the unique needs of the survivor, spouse and children. Due to the generosity of our community and donors, all of our programs and services are offered at no cost and with no barriers to access. In 2017 alone, 1100 lives were touched through our program outreach. We received 132 new referrals, distributed 107 pink packs, provided 554 meals delivered to families, and received funding to launch a new program in 2018 our rolling resource room.
