What a wonderful organization! United Caring Shelters serves more than 15,000 meals to the most vulnerable population! My employer, my church, my family and I have served to help the homeless and the near-homeless guests..... The staff and the day / overnight guests are very gracious and appreciative! I'm proud to contribute and to be part of such a blessed organization.

I wanted to give credit where credit is due, as my father was going through a lot in his life not just medically but emotionally. He has had a life full of addiction and downfalls, which doesn't ever match up well with being homeless. At this point in his life he was unable to find a residence and was living out of his car when he wasn't in the hospital, and his health was going downhill quickly. He was able to get in touch with the United Caring Shelter through the hospital and was then placed in the medical respite section of the facility, this gave him access to shelter, a semi-private area, and access to meals, these all greatly helped him recoup from all of his medical treatments, without this i'm not sure where he would be at right now. I also wanted to give some kudos to the case manager for helping to get him to appointments and keeping him on the right track and going above and beyond. He had a great external support system through the case manager and the facility and it definitely helped. Fast forward to today, he has transitioned into permanent housing in the apartments above the shelter, and is now getting back his independence and is also approaching the end of his treatment process. All of the administration and office staff was very accommodating with making sure he had the supplies and necessities he needed. All in all for me looking from the outside in, I would say this place has peoples back and best interests at heart when it really matters. Thanks UCS, for all of the help!

United Caring Shelters is a non-profit that provides food, shelter, showers, laundry and other basic services that we all take for granted. They do so in a caring way that recognizes the dignity of each person who walks through the door. Those people are referred to as guests, not clients, which sets the tone for every action that follows. United Caring Shelters can make referrals to dozens of agencies and organizations that can help turn a person's life around. They also offer affordable, permanent housing and will be the first in the area to offer a crisis stabilization unit that will have the ability to defer people from jail and into mental health and substance abuse centers, where they can receive the help they need. Caring is the operative word, and there is no other place like it in the area!

United Caring Services offers many services to those who are homeless or struggling to avoid homelessness. Many people who are served are people who work full time but are still unable to make ends meet. UCS offers a Day Shelter that serves three meals every day and offers shower and laundry facilities, as well as connections to a wide variety of available services in the community. There are emergency night shelters for both men and women and even a respite center for those recovering from a hospital stay! Twenty-one studio apartments have been provided for low-income individuals, and there is support available for those who live there to help them gain the skills necessary to maintain independent living.

USC is an amazing organization giving individuals a second chance.. or third or more.. plus they save lives. Alcoholism and so many other addictions causes a domino effect in individuals lives. People deserve a helping hand and someone to be there for them during difficult times and UCS does that!

My family and I have served food and volunteered at this amazing organization. The staff are excellent and the guests have been appreciative when we serve food. But this organization does so much more than serves food by giving people shelter, a Medical respite, etc.

As a volunteer at United Caring Services and a regular volunteer at Ruth’s House, I am so thankful that our community has this amazing organization to help women. Most of the women I’ve provided a meal for, have a safe and caring place to sleep each night at the women’s shelter. One would be surprised to know that most of these women work, but do not have a place to live. Ruth’s House and UCS GIVES them shelter while they find housing.

This organization helps one of our most vulnerable population - the homeless. Not only do they supply meals 3 times a day year round, they help clothe and shelter both male and the female population and promote ways to get them out of homelessness. They also have a medical respite to help those that have medical needs and require more services. I am proud to say I volunteer for UCS!

United Caring Services is helping to lead the way in our community to feed, shelter, and care for people experiencing hunger, near-homelessness, and homelessness. We are working to identify and solve the issues that cause and continue people's homelessness -- physical health, mental health, substance use, and affordable housing. UCS is a place where individuals, organizations, and agencies collaboratively create a community of caring. It is a great place to work, volunteer, and make a daily difference.
