Programs: For more than 74 years, United Ability, formerly United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Birmingham, has been serving individuals with all types of disabilities. In 2020 they impacted the lives of over 5,400 children and adults through its ten life-changing programs. Starting at birth, individuals are served by their Early Intervention program, which is the largest in the State. Their team provides therapy services to nearly 800 children annually born with disabilities or at risk for developmental delays. United Ability’s quality care continues through the Ability Clinic that provides critical Medical and Outpatient Therapy services to over 2,000 children through age 14. Their Hand In Hand Early Learning Program is a nationally and state accredited Pre-K that offers a uniquely inclusive environment where children with and without disabilities learn side by side. United Ability also offers various adult services through its LINCPoint Adult Program. In the Adult Day program, their participants learn life enrichment skills to promote healthy living and participate in community outings to foster social relationships. They also provide Employment Services that helps high school students and adults with disabilities find meaning employment through job training, coaching, and placement. United Ability also operates Gone For Good, a secure document and e-waste destruction company that employs adults with disabilities and serves over 700 customers in the greater Birmingham area.
