Mission: Unified health solutions (uhs) is a non-profit corporation serving individuals, families, and communities primarily in greene, montgomery counties.
Programs: Prescription assistance for individuals; the script program is a current service that supplies doctor-prescribed medication subsidies to individuals so they can maintain or regain optimal health. Through an established network of partners, an intake specialist assesses each client's overall eligibility, identified prescription needs, and financial burden. After the assessment, clients are provided a payment voucher for their prescription(s). The most vulnerable of clients are provided case management services to secure long-term prescription assistance. They provide approximately 3,500 prescription a year
prevention for youth; first step is a comprehensive prevention and academic after-school and summer camp enrichment program. The program operates year round five days a week during the school year and 4 days a week in the summer months. The award winning first step program provides prevention services during that critical time period after school when juvenile crime is at its highest as thousands of youth go to unsupervised homes. First step serves about 150 students annually. Project empower is the program whose goal is to reduce the use and abuse of alcohol, tobacco and other durgs among pregnant and parenting teens. Project empower utilitizes a health decision making skills curriculum and works to teach parenting skills including healthy relationships (anger managment, communication, domestic violence and negotiating skills) and support (getting a job, insurance, financial, legal, school issues, and stress managment) project empower serves about 400 students annually.
