Programs: 2gen program ($120,000)- the families together program provides parents with the opportunity to learn skills that empower them to engage more actively in their childrens school and the broader community, thereby increasing support and access to resources. Through increased parental participation, the goal is to improve student attendance and academic performance, while fostering a college-going culture among latino families. The future leaders academy for elementary school girls in sarasota and manatee elementary schools focuses on providing parents and students the opportunity to learn about the process and tools to successfully pursue college attainment as well as learning about career and jobs for the future. Students and their families have the opportunity to participate in college tours, research colleges, and host a college fair to share their learning with peers, siblings, and the community at large in their respective schools.

unidosnow high school and middle school clubs ($75,000)- building off the success of the unidosnow future leaders academy, we have successfully launched clubs at eight high schools and two middle schools in manatee and sarasota counties. These clubs provide college and career guidance to a broader range of students, while also offering members opportunities for leadership and school/community engagement. Our school programs provide general support and guidance to latino students interested in any type of post-secondary education -- 4-year college, 2-year college, or technical/vocational programs. One of the most successful elements of our initiative has been the increase in the number of families completing the fafsa, an application that qualifies them for federal financial aid.

ganas (grit)program ($50,000) - the spanish term ganas means desire or grit in english, and this term reflects the type of student that is being targeted for the ganas program; namely, vulnerable latino youth who have a strong desire to get ahead and the grit to overcome the many obstacles they are likely to face. The goal of the unidosnow ganas (grit) program is to help these students graduate from high school and make informed plans for their career by helping them access various entry points to economic mobility: 4-year colleges, 2-year colleges, technical colleges, military service, and frontline positions at growing and dynamic local employers.
