Causes: Crime & Law, Domestic Violence, Spouse Abuse Prevention
Mission: Unidos exists to empower the community to break the cycle of domestic violence, end sexual assault and promote healthy family systems.
Programs: Unidos provides advocacy and support services to women, men, youth and children victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in the latino community of wisconsin. In addition, unidos educates the community and seeks community-driving solutions to end violence in wisconsin. Unidos advocacy program is dedicated to the prevention, education, prompt reporting, intervention, and support of victims/survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault and their families to enhance and improve their quality of life. Through unidos advocacy program, 144 women, 98 youth, 102 children, and 20 men received direct services that included court accompaniment and referrals to mental health services, housing, and employment. We facilitated 26 support groups. Unidos conducted 12 educational presentations in various settings, including the university of wisconsin madison, community groups, schools, and conferences. Through these efforts we served 200 people.
