Mission: Mission Summary:
Unbound Visual Arts (UVA) is a unique Allston-Brighton (MA-US) based non-profit art organization. We serve the Greater Boston community with impactful educational programs and exhibits to encourage learning, engagement, and change.
Our Exhibit Gallery at the Arthaus, located in Allston, MA, is dedicated to featuring the work of local artists and is Allston’s first community art gallery. We also maintain a growing collection of over 100 works of art and encourage artistic exploration with workshops, lectures, and educational activities. Our exhibitions engage with crucial cultural and social topics, including race and gender equity, environmental sustainability, and wellness. UVA regularly creates opportunities for artists who have experienced homelessness to sell and display their work, addressing the gap between the general public and the homeless community. Furthermore, we make our offerings accessible to underserved communities by providing free memberships to individuals who are low-income, unemployed, and/or homeless. Our virtual offerings are accessible to the general public for free on our website and virtual exhibit platforms.
UVA holds organizational memberships with Mass Creative, New England Museum Association, Americans for the Arts, and the Boston Preservation Alliance.
Results: Since our founding in 2012, UVA has organized 75+ independently curated exhibitions designed to showcase the work of local artists, both in person and virtually. In 2021, we represented over 50 artists in virtual exhibitions and 40 artists at in-person art sales and expos. We also launched a new Exhibit Gallery at the Arthaus located in Allston, MA.
