My son participates in 3 different programs offered within this building and despite advertising a focus on sports, they refuse to let athletes walk in the front door. They made us walk 1/4 mile in a tropical storm instead of letting us walk into the front door. The new cafe area fell apart because they banished foot traffic and essentially took away my membership to the building, as despite the membership I have, I’m still not allowed to walk in the building. The CEO is on an ego-trip and truly seems to enjoy making things harder for the programs that support the funding of this building. It’s really a shame. I’ve donated to their fundraisers before in addition to paying for the programs my son attends. We love the programs, but hope to see them relocate in the future. I will not provide any further donations directly to Uturn again.

Causes: Education, Scholarships, Scholarships & Student Financial Aid
Mission: To help maximize young peoples lives by providing superior athletic training and sound biblical guidance. To develop youth to be highly skilled athletes while offering christian mentoring to them.
Programs: U-turn offered basketball, football, soccer, tennis, and volleyball training in fy 2014. This year u-turn had a total of 20 competitive teams in our programs. Our uspa volleyball girls had a total of 7 teams this season and our aau boys and girls basketball had a total of 13 teams. Our uspav 18's volleyball team for taking 8th place at nationals this year. Our cap city ballerz 11th grade girls team shined on the court to take home 2nd place in the division i national championships. Training highlights: u-turn was able to serve 917 students between the ages of 6 and 18 through basic, next level, high performance training,private lessons and revamped its training programs in the fall. Newly introduced training programs include a wide range of classes from fundamentals to position specific training. U-turn provided summer programs in fy 2014 that served over 600 students from the greater richmond area. These programs provided the following components: health/fitness, biblical guidance, character development, sports specific training, and team building. U-turn served the community through its outreach efforts, which include behavioral and special needs programming, physical education support services. Outreach highlight: the basketball and tennis programs worked with students with disabilities from richmond public schools through a partnership with special olympics. In fy 2014 u-turn continued to gain momentum with multiple program and community partnerships with organizations such as sportable adaptive sports, special olympics, elite athlete development, sports united, the new youth challenged advised and positively promoted (new ycapp), dominion youth services and bless richmond.
