Mission: To help those less fortunate. Building relationships we hope will help lead to improved life choices and the ability to become self reliant by referring those in need and ready to get help the resources to get the help the need. Including clean and sober shelter, rehabilitation (if information and sources are available) immediate housing.
Results: We have a few people that we have followed through time and seen them grasp the help available and start a new lives. We have been able to build long lasting friendships with some of the homeless members of our community.
One thing we all must remember, these are members of our community and people. While some may have made initial choices which resulted in their current situation; being homeless is not something one chooses to be and is difficult to overcome in the best of circumstances.
We are there to be a stepping stone on the journey, and hands to hold along the way.
Target demographics: the increase of hunger in our homeless youth, elderly, and other community members who have fallen on hard times.
Direct beneficiaries per year: On average we serve about 100 homeless a weekend.
Geographic areas served: Homeless support and assistance
Programs: Warm meal every Saturday morning, regardless on the holiday or weather a group of volunteers will be at the corner of 32nd and Wetmore in Everett, WA providing Coffee, Juice, a warm breakfast burrito, oatmeal and a variety of pastries. Also provided are toiletry items such as shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, deodorant, and clothing.
I feel comfortable donating to this group. It is ran by all volunteers who take no money from any contribution. All funds go dollar for dollar to helping those in need, the homeless by providing the essentials. The group does a great job feeding the homeless in Everett every saturday morning. They are there with the homeless in their element, serving them and building relationships with some frequently forgotten community members in need of help.
