Mission:

The purpose of the Tustin Community Foundation is to promote and advance philanthropy in the greater Tustin area. By partnering with its donors, the Foundation supports nonprofit organizations and public institutions that effectively address ever-changing community needs.

Results: Since 2007 the Tustin Community Foundation has contributed more than $250,000 in grants and awards to more than eighty community-wide programs. In addition, we have connected volunteers to causes they care about, collected food, clothing, books and other items to assist those in our community who need support.

Target demographics: Major Program Areas: Arts & Culture, Civic Affairs, Children & Youth, Community Development, Education, Health & Wellness, Human Service, Seniors and the broad general needs of the community

Direct beneficiaries per year: 38 deserving area nonprofit organizations through grants, donations and volunteer assistance ... which means we helped hundreds of people!

Geographic areas served: The Greater Tustin Area includes the City of Tustin and portions of Irvine, Santa Ana and unincorporated Orange County.

Programs: annual community grantmaking that addresses current and emerging community needs; a Volunteer in Tustin program that connects people with causes they care about and helps area nonprofit organizations find new members volunteers; the Patriots & Pioneers program that recognizes the sacrifices of our current service people as well as pays tribute to the local heroes who lost their lives in the service of our county; and annual food, pajama and socks & underwear drives to help those in our community who can use a hand-up.

The Tustin Community Foundation is such a worthwhile organization. I have volunteered to help with various events and this is such a well run Foundation, it is a pleasure to be associated with them. Please consider donating or volunteering. You will not be sorry.

TCF is a fantastic community organization in so many ways. First, it's efficiency in raising and passing/granting monies and supplies for Tustin charities is ridiculously high -- in the 90%+ range. They do this by using an "army" of community volunteers, sponsors for all the expenses they can offset, and practically nothing to salaries. Second, TCF has a tremendous track record of successful events. I believe they conduct over 14 fundraising events annually. Third, I stress the "FUN" part of fundraising. TCF gives the community an entertainment and experience value at the fundraisers. Lastly, TCF has great Exec Director leadership who drives the operations AND develops and maintains tight network with all the charities. Great work Erin and TCF Board.

This group does so much with so little. Very efficient. Very creative approaches to getting community involvement and donations. The group redirects all the donations to such a wide, diverse array of local charities and causes. Keep going on!

As Board President of a small Tustin non-profit, Tustin Dollars for Scholars, I can not say enough wonderful things about Tustin Community Foundation! The first assistance they gave our group came in a wonderful newsletter format that they generously shared with us! Next came the participation by the director in our major fundraiser, The Kentucky Derby Party, as a "jockey" for 4 years in a row! TCF has given our group many opportunities to become known in Tustin. By being invited to participate with the many other non-profits, TCF serves as the conduit to make our city a great place to live. We have participated in their fund raising events and have honored our volunteers of the year at Tustin Community Foundation's HEROES LUNCHEON. TCF consistently keeps us informed about Tustin activities and graciously advertises Tustin Dollars for Scholars events.

Our group's purpose is to raise money for scholarships for local high school seniors. One way we do this is by selling hamburgers and hotdogs at the summer Concerts In the Park. TCF awarded us a $500 grant to purchase a new bar-b-que! Two years later they awarded us another grant to purchase a customized canopy! This has made it possible to award additional scholarships! Thank you TCF for what you do for our community, and for your support of Tustin Dollars for Scholars.

The Tustin Community Foundation staff and volunteers work their butt off throughout the year in putting together community events that are fun and engaging, and most importantly, that raise funds for their grants that they distribute in support of the arts, children, homeless, education, and more. It's a pleasure working with a true community partner that wants the best for Tustin. Tustin is very fortunate to have TCF!

TCF is an amazing non profit agency, that not only is always ready to help wherever is needed, but also adapts to the needs of its community. They truly understand what needs to be done to better our community and they are not afraid to do the work. On the contrary they embrace it. I have been lucky enough to receive their support in many occasions , through food drives, pajama drives and underwear and sock drives. All the items collected were distributed to families in need in Tustin and surrounding areas. This might seem small thing to some people, but it made a huge difference in the life's of the children and their families.
I also have to add that none of these wonderful things could happen, without the incredible group of people that are the members of the foundation and the
leadership of an amazing and selfless person like Erin Nielsen. Always ready to roll up her sleeves and go to work in benefit of her community.

Tustin Community Foundation is the example that we all want to follow in regards to non profits in Tustin, CA. The accumulation of sponsors and donors are necessary to provide organizations such as youth sports teams, high school organizations, and other very important non-profits with grants to help fund their programs. I am proud to be part of this group.

TCF has been great for getting the community involved in the charitable needs of Tustin. I have been to nearly all of their events in the past year and am proud to help out. It is great to help a charity that I can see the donations come in and then get put into the hands of people who make a difference!
