Offers court services which provides court advocates who offer information to victims seeking a protection from abuse (pfa) order, accompaniment to victims during pfa hearings and other hearings in the criminal justice system. A pfa order is a vital component of providing safety to victims as they work to regain their physical, social, and economic dignity. While a pfa order will not guarantee that the abuser will not harm the victim, the order can significantly enhance a victim's safety by deterring further incidents of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, holding the abuser accountable for his or her actions, and demonstrate that the victim has the support of the legal system.
